Happy birthday George, what a man. Remember him walking into a service station after a replayed match at Bristol City on a wet Tuesday night. Us Town fans were in the queue all soaked and bedraggled. He walked straight to the start of the queue and bought all a hot drink. It's things like this that stay with you a lifetime. Oh and a fantastic manager too!!

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.

In my 73 years of watching Town, the best team for me was under George Kerr and Dave Booth.

Thank you guys for some great times.
