Maybe it was a step too far, a bit like Hurst at Ipswich.

Wonder where they will rock up next?

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

A win percentage of 43 though, so not a lot like Hurst at Ipswich

I wouldn't be surprised to see them at Forest Green.

Not surprised. Watched them win at Cheltenham early season and commented then on the style of play and how poor it was to watch. Bracket them along with Parkinson at Wrexham, in that they have a way of playing which isn’t attractive for spectators unless your winning in which case most fans just accept it.

They clearly have something given their previous achievements but think they need to take some time away and look at alternative ways of playing and not be one trick ponies. Anyway they’ll get another job but probably need some success next time around otherwise they will be back in the L2 basement bucket with many other failed managers.

Danny Cowley gave up a stable job of being a PE teacher to follow his dream of participating in professional football. I admire that in many ways.

PE Teaching chancer.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

And they are probably set for life after taking the Huddersfield job. The problem in football though is that you soon fall behind if you don't change. They found a method and way of working that worked but the analysis is so in depth these days, you have to continually evolve because teams will know how to cancel you out quite quickly.

I would imagine the money he was on at Lincoln and subsequent other jobs has made it all worth while.

I've read similar on Alf Ramsey .

Yes I think your right. That's the thing with football as ex players will tell you as well. The highs can be great but the lows horrible .
