Players are allowed to kiss the badge at times of jubilation (ie when they've scored a goal for us), and show that they love the club without wanting to be playing with us forever. It doesn't make them a mercenary if they eventually leave to a much better team.
I love my partner because we have shared good times and bad, made sacrifices and built trust and loyalty. We are committed to building a better future for ourselves. I am not going to dump her for some Luton floozy just because she has a few more quid in the bank. 😉

Let’s hope she feels the same way!! JF has a few Bob to spend on a floozy should one become available 😀😀

Players like Mitrovic have made a career out of scoring goals for fun in The Championship so it's no surprise he earns £100k a week, given the financial rewards of promotion to the Premier League.
McAtee has signed a deal until summer 2026 and I assume there are pay rises in that linked to appearances and promotion to the promised land. Keeping players here against their will isn't going to contribute to a good dressing room but this has to be about the bigger picture. Come here, impress and we won't stop you progressing.
Last year I recall Stockwood talking about us receiving multiple bids for Grist and Leicester wasn't the highest fee but it was important for Grist to decide what was best for him. Fast forward a year and it transpires Luton weren't the highest bid for McAtee but it's a deal that allowed everyone to win.
Hopefully, the word will be out that Town is now a good club to come to.

I think it probably is by now DB. Better training facilities, more support staff, increasing fan base, stable managerial team, well respected youth set up and forward thinking owners. Plus more barbers and charity shops per square foot on Freeman Street than anywhere else in the UK.

Have you ever been to Luton? 😂
Also we don't know his wage, I'm guessing 6k or less. We also don't know whether we got a good deal because it's undisclosed. I'm guessing it is a satisfactory deal for us in the circumstances rather than a fantastic deal.
I love my home town of Grimsby but Luton surely isn't worse ? That's immaterial anyway as I doubt he will live and socialise in the worse parts in the same way that footballers coming here would avoid the East Marsh and the sink estates. According to JS it's a good deal and it was highly unlikely that he would sign a new deal with us. In fact he rejected a new offer from the club so in 9 months we would have got nothing for him.

i can tell you for certain that about 10 years ago a premiership reserve player from London , who was on £10,000 p.a. ,went to Bolton and he certainly didn't take a pay cut! I know another pro who went to one of the smallest clubs in League 1 about 7 or 8 years ago because they paid him a salary of £5-£6000 per week There is also a well established Championship footballer (number of years in the Prem) who is an old school chum of my wife's offspring and he's on c£20,000-£30,000 p.w. Also know of a Championship striker , through mutual acquaintances, who's on around £20,000 p.w. - again he's an ex Prem player

Looking likely he now needs his op, highly unlikely to be available this weekend and likely to be out for a few months, if the op goes ahead Source P.H
Does seem like the gamble to not have his op in the summer has backfired unfortunately, if the specialist does indeed recommend it now. Hopefully Luton don't recall him in January and we get to see him in black and white again.
