After the 2 midfield signings today, the squads really taking shape. Hurst said wants another 4/5 players in, how many of them are going to be starters? I reckon he’ll be looking for a keeper to challenge Max and another CB to sit alongside waterfall/Maher, along with a winger and striker.

As the squad is, how would you line up in the first game against Orient? I’m going with:

Crocombe

Efete
Waterfall
Maher
Glennon

Morris
Green

Khan
Wearne
Mcatee

Orsi

SUBS

Cropper
Amos
Pearson
Holohan
Clifton
Maguire-Drew
Taylor

Orsi for Taylor and Wearne for Clifton were the difficult calls

Sounds good. Orient should be a good test.
If we win 2-0 it will put down a great marker….

If fit, Taylor will start ahead of Orsi.

Away. First match. Clifton will be there. Presumably in place of Khan or Wearne.

Shows the depth of the squad now. Don't think he'll worry too much now about if those 4 or 5 extras are in for Orient and wouldn't be surprised if 2 or 3 are young loanees.

Think he will not want to rush Wearne after his injury at Cleethorpes. Same with Khan. Clifton and Maguire Drew more likely to start.

Holohan will hopefully be more up to speed over the next two weeks so Morris to start on the bench. If Khouri has another good half at Alfreton Hurst will have even more options.

No idea what the starting 11 will be, but it'll be a strong looking bench, with plenty of competition.

And that's before we bring in any more players.

I’m sure the manager would like to have another striking option in the next week or so, looking at that.

Clifton will start. Hurst never started with 2 out and out wingers in non-league, i would be very surprised if he suddenly started doing that a league above. Plus Clifton is hardly likely to have turned down a move to a league one club if he was told he would only be a squad player here. I am not disagreeing with this by the way, I completely agree with Clifton starting wide.

I think most games it will be Clifton and one of the other wingers starting, with Clifton maybe subbed if we need a goal and make an attacking change.

One area I am interested in to see how selection goes is full backs. For me we have 4 quality full backs, all I would imagine expect game time. Will be interesting.

Strongest looking squad for years. Can remember when we had so much quality in such depth.
