Just been told my return train( Hull trains)  to Donny on Sunday is canceled……been told I have to re book with another operator and pay the difference!   Only another £140 for us all…..and that’s if that runs…..
Watch out ……

It just gets worse……..

I always thought if a train is cancelled then ticket acceptance on different route/operater would be in place and you won't need to pay anymore as it's not your fault? That has certainly always been the case with me and was the case only yesterday for me, I held an advance ticket which is only valid on a certain train which was cancelled, I then was allowed to catch a different train on operated by a different company.

I would certainly challenge the fact that you was told you had to pay more money because your train is cancelled as I know that not to be true, you've been badly advised

I was told I could go on a later Hull train as long as the conditions were the same. The next train was over an hour later and taking an hour long due to changes.

I’m not waiting around in London - especially if it ends up being a bad day.

Sundays are awful for trains. I remember Virgin messed up so badly once. They refunded my entire ticket and gave me a free 1st class return anywhere on thier route. Was very tempted to go to Aberdeen and back and drink them dry.

Massive gamble but cheaper than taking my car that returns 27mpg in the current fuel price shitstorm

Train is just over an hour as well.

I leave by 9 so if there are any morning cancellations I’ll have to drive but it gives me plenty of time.
