Are there any National League rules as to guaranteed minimum away fan allocations to make support fair to both teams in these vital games?

Like clockwork, town fans start wittering on about allocations. We’ll get 2000 at Notts county, it’ll be enough, then we’ll worry about where we go next…

The only way won’t be playing Notts County in 2 weeks is if we lose on Sunday, Chesterfield win and there’s a 4 goal swing, so probably unlikely.

Given that there are no trains back to GY/Clee from Nottingham after 8:32pm, I wonder if East Mids Trains would fancy putting on any specials to get people back? Probably not at this late notice.

Would it be worth the club looking at sorting some coaches out? Notts Police might even prefer that than having 4000 turning up in cars and coaches arranged privately.

Did we get 2000 for the league fixture? Didnt it end up being 1800 or something? Anyway I suspect it won't be enough...

I think the stand can hold 4k but they don't allow us to have that many

As I mentioned on another thread, modernised Meadow Lane’s record attendance is 17,500, which came in their play-off game against Coventry in 2018. Coventry had 4,600 fans there that night. County got spanked 4-1.

So evidently, they can do it, and if the police can handle 4,600 Cov fans I don’t see why they can’t handle a similar number of Town fans. Question is, will County try on some MK Dons-esque shíthousery and purposely limit out allocation, or will the local constabulary use the press reports from our last visit there as an excuse?

If they give us 4,000 tickets, we’ll sell them in my opinion. My gut tells me it will provably be a similar amount to last time however. Our false reputation as drug addled, píss-soaked hooligans precedes us.

Yeah pretty sure they gave them a noticeably bigger amount than us shortly after.

At the very least you'd expect however many they gave us last time or else that's just gaming the system. How many actually was it?

Will the game be televised for those of us that inevitably can't get a ticket due to Notts County not giving us enough?

I'm fairly sure that all the play-off games are televised.

I went (bored and living close by at the time), and Coventry absolutely had the entire end, so yes it has been done.

More to the point there will inevitably be town fans in the home ends should we get some urine poor allocation, makes no sense at all as pretty much everybody that wants to go could be accommodated.

This gets churned out every time we have a big game, how many times have a significant number of Town fans ever been in the Home end for an all ticket game?

Scunny just before lockdown. You could point out a town fan in the home end in nearly every picture from that day. Must’ve been 20-30 stood to the left of the town fans at the end of the game.

Pretty sure we got 2500 and sold all of them, possibly before they got to general sale too.

Reckon realistically we'd sell 3000 with it being Wednesday night and no trains back.

Be good if the club got a fleet of coaches organised and sold a match ticket with a coach ticket - not saying subsidise them just do the organisation...
