If Fox, Abrahams and Scannell play like they did in the last half hour against Barnet we should comfortably see off Maidstone.

Was it Maidstone we played in 89/90 and there was a house on fire nearby?

Yeah, it was when they were playing at Dartford. It was behind one of the goals and a lot of their fans left early to sit on the double decker buses provided to take them back to Maidstone and watched the end of the game from there. I remember Alan Buckley bringing Mark Lever on as a sub up front and we equalised with a late penalty for 2 all.

A stray cigarette I think.

Not sure which brand. Galloises or Barton & Butler?

I remember asking directions to the ground. I stopped a local and said 'Excuse me can you tell me where to find Maidstones ground?'. He scowled at me and said 'It's Dartford's ground and walked off.'

The other reason I remember that game so well was that it was absolutely pissing down all the way from Grimsby and we were doubtful if the game would be on or not. Anyway we went through The Dartford Tunnell (it was before the bridge opened) and when we came out the other side it was bright sunshine and bone dry!

Probably Galloises. Quite close to France. Was dropped whilst looking meaningfully into the middle distance.

Miss Scunthorpe. Not a beauty pageant, just sound advice.
