Bar a total collapse in our form in the remaining games, several players will no doubt be grabbing the attentions of other teams.
Who would you want to stay here regardless of interest?
Who would you reluctantly let go if the price was right?
Who would you not give two hoots about if they left?

It's probably going to depend on which division we are in next season. If we are still in the NL the majority of the players in the squad against Torquay, plus MacAtee of course, will probably stay I imagine. Except perhaps Macca and Wright unless Max has resolved his fitness issues..

Surely, at our level (and virtually every other level apart from the 'elite' clubs) that is the whole squad. We'd all love to keep McAtee... but if someone comes in with a huge bid, we'd be mad not to sell him!

I was talking to the old town defender Dave Worthington at the Dagenham & Redbrifge home match. He's a scout for Rochdale now. I'd seen him at a few other matches as well before I finally approached him. Asked him who he was watching, but he just said he was looking generally.
Wouldnt be too suprised if they make a play for a player or two of ours in the summer.

I thought Dave Worthington lived in Spain.

Dunno, but definitely him. I didn't recognise him at first, but he introduced himself. Have seen him at 4 or 5 times this season - always taking notes throughout the games.

Of our out of contract players, I’d think there’s only Efete who’s likely to generate the kind of interest we’d struggle to compete with. Even then, I’m not sure he’s going to be as coveted as Magnay and Tait were after their respective season’s here.
McAtee’s the obvious uncertainty, but in our previous years in this division not many clubs came in wanting to pay money for our contracted players. I can only think of Connell to Swindon, though Hearn would have been an inevitability had he not got injured, but not many over the years either way.

Swindon were looking at Efete the other week but like you say, I don't think he will be as coveted as Magnay and Tait.

I think the bigger question is who Hursty would want to keep. All that will be determined by which league we're in. If we go up, he'll have to make a judgment on whether certain players will be up to it in the league above. There's obviously a case of what constitutes 'good enough'. Good enough to survive,or push on
Will he think Taylor can hack league football again at 34 for example? Does Harry Clifton have enough quality to really justify being a starter in the league above?
Does he think Waterfall would be able to re-adjust again to league football after such a poor showing last season?
I think we'll have a new keeper regardless next season. Mentioned in another thread how I think Battersby is good enough to be our backup and we can spend the combination of Macca and Crocombe's wages on a genuinely top keeper at this level.
I'm pretty sure players like Efete, Amos, Holohan, McAtee are good enough for the league above.
But let's get promoted first!

Waterfall was perfectly solid under Jolley. It was Holloway trying to play out like Man City that turned him, and the wider defence, into a shambles. He’s a classic lower league stopper who can tackle and head. When he’s focusing on that he’s much better.
