Dunno why a shoulder injury should have that much effect. Hardly an ACL rupture. Could just be a minor tendon, many shoulder repairs are done by laparoscopy these days. Just because they’ve mentioned surgery - really doesn’t have to be a biggie.

This. Even a dislocation doesn’t require an op. Likely to be a minor procedure. Probably all about JM’s comfort level and range of movement.

Still don’t think that’ll affect his game. His celebrations might have to be muted.

Injure your shoulder and you will discover how it impacts just about every single movement you make.

All the above scenarios are based on his shoulder not being repairable or the operation going wrong. Not suggesting this is a day surgery thing and he’ll be bench pressing within a week. More that the surgery has come a long way in the last 25 years and chances are very good that he’ll be absolutely fine.

The op is perhaps a capsular shift - tightening the ligaments. 6 week recovery. Perhaps we’ll get more info to confirm what the Op is, but I think this is most likely. In the meantime after some rehab to get the movement and strength back hopefully he can play with some strapping.
