Can't see Alty or Dover doing us any favours tomorrow, and a draw at Bromley might be the best result for us, so both teams drop 2 points.

I agree can't see Notts or Boaram Wood failing go get the 3 points. I think Stockport mmay aswell take the 3 points where not catching them for sure.

Stockport, Cheaterfurlough, Borehamwood and Halifax are shoo-ins for at least the play offs so we're not actually battling them and only have to worry about them beating the other teams in the top 10, in my opinion.

I still hold out faint hope of catching the top 2. I certainly think we can finish 3rd, which gives a big playoff advantage, so realistically Bromley losing would be ideal. I haven't seen anyone outplay us all season, we have played at least ok in almost every game, so I reckon with confidence back into the team, the play offs are definitely on.

We need JMD back and then a freak injury free rest of season; also we need Clifton to play like Waters, Arjan to be Groves, JMD to be Kevin Donovan, John McAtee to be Pouton, Sousa to be Tony Ford and Taylor to be Gary Liddell, er no not him - Gary Birtles...

Win ours, then see what happens.

I wouldn't worry about other results until last 2/3 games when it really matters

Stockport win will be more ideal. Personally think they'll be more resilient and last longer through the season than Bromley regards picking up more points etc

Insane to think we've played more games than anyone else despite failing to get the Boreham Wood game on for a variety of reasons and postponing all our festive games due to Covid.

King's Lynn v Woking postponed tonight due to a waterlogged pitch, not that it will matter to us.

Dover Athletic v Notts County also off now.

They really ought to be winning the Champions League this season. They’re far and away the best team in England right now, the competition from Spain and Italy is weak by usual standards, PSG are just a squad of slung together mercenaries and in Germany, Bayern had 4 put past them in their defeat to the mighty VFL Bochum the other day.

For all his obvious merits, a failure to win the Champions League with Manchester City would be a massive gap on Pep’s CV.

Personally I would love to see City win the Champions League if only to pi$$ the United fans off, "not in my lifetime"

I can't disagree with that, but regrettably he appears to be a pretty competent manager. In over 400 games at Fylde, albeit financially backed, he had a win rate of 54%, 46% at Hartlepool and currently almost 80% at Stockport. That's pretty good going.

No away goals rule anymore so City still have to be careful

Only Town have a better home record than Bromley (on goal difference I might add), so to go there and score three is pretty impressive, I have to say. I daren't even look where we are in the away table...

It is, because I always felt we struggled at home in Hurst's previous life as Town boss. Yeah, there was the odd time we scored 6 or 7, but far more common was the likes of Guiseley and other bottom feeders coming and frustrating the lives out of us, a la Kings Lynn. Also bizarre is that they appear to be the only side to come and really play that way against us so far. I hope it remains that way.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the amount of teams who try to play progressive football in this league. Been much better than last time we were non league.

I can't believe how many games Boreham Wood have still got in hand. They are in great form so it wouldn't be absolutely unheard of for them to keep winning and put in a real title challenge.

Aldershot did set up exactly that way, but the early goal meant they had to change plan and open up a bit more and it was cruise control from us from then on.

Perhaps. Personally, I didn’t think they did. Bizarrely. Aldershot came into the game with the 5th best away record in the league, and I think they came to try and take all 3 points only to find us far superior to them on the day.

But we all see things differently. I ain’t no oracle.

I thought Aldershot came at us from the off. They had the wind on their side and looked to take advantage of it.

Looking at the league table as it stand, I have to say I'd settled for 7th! So many teams with games in hand. I predict the 2 teams that'll miss out are Solihull and Wrexham

All well & good having 4 or 5 games in hand but when you’re going to end up playing Sat-Tue-Thu-Sat, as always happens in this league, it only takes a couple of injuries or suspensions to knock you.

Anything that keeps us in touch with the playoffs can only be a good thing. We can’t really afford any more losses after that run though.

Having a lot of games in hand is not the same as points in the bag.  Tiredness can hit home when playing games frequently.  Injuries are more likely.

From memory, so maybe wrong at my age, Soham had a backlog of games.  Played Leeds at home in the FAC?  They got into the playoffs but ran out of steam.  (That was when “smaller” teams got into the playoffs).
