Just watched the gloves off face to face between Williams and Eubank Jr. on YouTube. I know they are there to sell the fight but they seem to genuinely despise each other. Hope Williams can win but fancy a late Eubank win by stoppage.

For what it’s worth I think in this case there is genuine needle between them much like Khan and Brook.

Williams is a very good fighter but Eubank will be too strong for him and win by stoppage

Kell Brook v Amir Khan tonight.

What we thinking?

I’m going for Brook by KO in 5.

This is a hard one to call, both are excellent fighters with great skills, I think Khan will win though.

Good call that Golly, I watched the bout , it was a great fight, Khan was a shadow of himself but take nothing away from Brook he fully deserved the win, it was good to see the embrace at the end.

I’ve always rated Kell Brook. Only 3 defeats on his record and 2 of those were stopped because of broken eye sockets. I don’t think he has anything left to prove in boxing so he should probably retire however tempting it might be for him to get paid to demolish Eubank.

If Brook can get himself in the same physical and mental condition, then a Eubank, or even Benn fight, would be huge.

It would, but at the same time it would still be a huge step down from the world title fights Kell had earlier in his career & the Khan fight.

Brook looked great and seemed to get stronger the longer the fight went on against a past it Khan. I always thought that unlike Khan he wanted the fight more than the money and he celebrated like he’d won a world title, I was well pleased for him.
I think he should retire but a Eubank fight would be huge financially for him, I would expect Eubank to be the favourite although Brook would definitely fancy his chances but just like Khan last night he would be motivated for the payday, I think Connor Benn would be the better option for him.

Yeah, Brook wanted it more but I did admire Khan's bravery. He took a lot of punishment.

Benn would be very dangerous for Brook. But a fight against either him or Eubank would be a last big pay day and could elevate Eubank or Benn to world level.

I don't know a great deal about boxing, but that decision last night was like Dave Challinor getting the free kick!

Absolutely scandalous! I’ve seen some shocking decisions in my life but for everyone to be in agreement tells you everything.

Perhaps I expect too much but the level of dishonesty from Taylor didn’t sit well with me. The very least Catterall deserved was a ‘it was a tight fight’ and well do it again.

However, to bullshiit the people and say he won definitively, is treating the audience in attendance and at home with contempt.

It’s fights like that, that turn me off boxing!

Catterall should be world champion today looking forward to more lucrative fights, even financial stability for his family. Completely robbed.

Fury v Whyte in less than an hour. What are we thinking?

I honestly think this is going to be the toughest fight of Fury's career. Deontay Wilder hits hard but has zero boxing skills. Whyte might not quite have that explosive power but he can actual box..

Slugfest with Fury stopping Whyte in round 7.

Not the fight I was expecting. I didn’t think Fury would show the amount of respect to Whyte and patience he did. It was a bit of a borefest. Great uppercut to finish it.

As expected Whyte was totally out of his depth tonight, Fury is the best heavyweight in the world by a country mile at the moment.

Not surprised Fury announced his retirement after the fight though, must be worth a fortune by now with all the big pay days.

We'll see.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I think Fury's ego and the £££ will see a huge fight early in 2023 against the winner of the AJ Usyk rematch.

I likened the fight to one of those third round cup ties between a lower league minnow and a top flight club. Initially the lower league team stood their ground without putting in any pressure but as the game grows you feel it’s only a matter of time before the top flight club just go boom! Then it’s game over…

This is what happened…

I think Usyk would prove to be the hardest fight of his career.

Not sure. Usyk is an exceptonal boxer. I think it would be a very cagey fight which would go to the judges.

I forgot to mention that Frank Warren should be ashamed of himself. The undercard was an absolute disgrace.

Compare that undercard to when Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Sports put on Joshua v Klitschko or the Froch v Groves rematch at Wembley Stadium. Proper undercards with interesting fights.

Agree entirely. One of the heavyweights (and he was f***ing heavy) looked like he had come straight from standing on the doors at a pub in Cleethorpes High Street.

Very slim chance for Usyk! His game plan would have to be hit and run then get a points decision.  Fury to big to strong but most importantly a very skilled and clever boxer.
Also worth remembering Usyk struggled with Chisora, he did beat a wooden Joshua but he never hurt him, Fury in a league of his own.

Fury in a league of his own.
Listening to the fight show on talk sport last night, Gareth Davies after talking to Fury earlier in the week reckons he will come out of retirement to fight Joshua if he beats Usyk but if Usyk wins it will be harder for Fury to have the motivation to come back.

Like you say if Fury if  is on his A game I feel noone touches him. Brilliant boxer.

Has to happen for the sake of boxing. I personally want to see Fury fight the winner of Uysk or Joshua. If he does Furys legacy would be far greater. Deontay Wilder went well up in my estimation for the way he fought Fury in that third fight but apart from that knockout power ( best in boxing I feel) is technically not the best.

Massively looking forward to this .

Joshua has the height and strength to cause Usyk a lot of damage. Uysk though is the technician and pound for pound one of the best in the sport.

I think this will be a cracking fight. Joshua I feel won't be as conservative this time and will fight a lot more aggressive. Uysk on the other hand will also up his game .

This is not Joshua v Andy Ruiz 2 where the Mexican let himself go eg not training hard enough for the 2nd  fight  . Uysk has always been a very disciplined athlete .

I think if Joshua can get him with his power punches he can hurt him real bad  but Uysk is a very good technician and will cause Joshua problems as well.

Edit. I've always fancied Joshua to win it late on with a stoppage but I think Uysk may edge it. He's fighting for Ukraine, his people and this may spur him on to even greater levels once the fight starts .

Usyk wins in the 10th, I can see a cagey match marred by cuts before  TKO in the later rounds.  Ruiz looked like he'd only showed up to bank his appearance fee and then retire in their rematch, Usyk has higher ambitions I feel.

A much better performance from AJ but Usyk is simply a better fighter and there is certainly no shame in that at all. The after fight shenanigans though…perhaps not so much! Not a good look even with the huge disappointment of the loss.

Usyk must have given AJ a brain injury causing that bizarre outburst post-fight. Usyk a phenomenal fighter and athlete to stay that mobile and fast late in the fight. Him vs Fury would be a good watch you’d think…

Enjoyed watching that. Especially the 10th  round when after loosing the 9th to some heavy shots to the body Uysk came out and absolutely peppered Joshua.

Have to say Uysk is my favourite current fighter. Love everything about him. The professionalism, the skill set, a man of God. Must of been good for the Ukrainian people as well to see him get that win.

I think Fury will come out of retirement now and fight Uysk. To much legacy and money on the line. I note Uysk said similar. If he can't fight Fury that's it for him as a boxer.

Glad Fury has recently stated he is coming out of retirement. I think most boxing fans didn't believe him.

I favour Tyson Fury to beat Uysk due to his  greater size and is skilled . As Fury says he's been fighting for a long time and his family history is one of bare knuckle fighting . Having said that Uysk will give Fury problems. Skillset I feel is a bit better alongside very good movement.

Usyk won't be fighting again until 2023, so Fury has offered AJ a shot at his belt instead.  Supposed to happen in December, I see a Fury win in rounds 5-7 if it does.

Personally, I'd love to see Usyk vs Wilder, regardless of any belts up for grabs.  Massive contrast in styles there, Usyk clearly the better boxer but could he take Wilder's right glove and get up again?  I'm not so sure.

I see Frank Warren has offered Joshua a contract and a reasonable one as reported in the media by all accounts. Hope he takes it.Would prefer Joshua to fight Fury later in the year as opposed to 3-4 fights later and possibly 1-2 years away as has been originally reported by Eddie Hearn eg wanted Joshua to go on a world tour to build him up following the Uysk lost and also earn Matchroom loads of money in the interim. For boxings sake the fight should happen when both fighters are in their prime eg  up to 35 years as opposed to over the hill like the Floyd Mayweather Jr v Manny Pacquiao fight in 2015 when Floyd was 38.

As for Wilder v Uysk yes that's a definite pay per view. Have a lot of love and respect for both fighters. Wilder for the way he fought his heart out especially in the third Fury fight and Uysk for the professional he is inside and out of the ring. I still think Uysk would edge it though. The guy is a excellent fighter and quite a way bit better technically than Wilder. I think he would evade Wilders "bombs" though .

Just a shame both came into boxing late professionally.

Fury v Chisora

Surely miss-match of the century

Let's see how it goes

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Fury wins, no surprise.

Fury was just playing with his mate Chisora from the start, could have taken him out in the 2nd round in my opinion, Chisora was on the ropes and getting battered yet Fury decides to hold on, probably didn't want the crowd to feel robbed.

Farce from start to finish but good payday for them both, they're no mugs.

It was always going to be a disgrace of a match and turned out to be just that. A complete money making exercise which lends nothing to the sport. I just expect a world champion to want to cement their legacy with an actual contest rather than that load of guff.

Fury needs to be fighting Uysk and exciting up and comers, not Derek Chisora in a 60,000 seater stadium.

It's a short career, so can't really complain too much about taking an easy payday. If Fury really is as good as the hype would indicate (not a boxing afficionado myself), then he's got enough time left to keep on taking on the biggest threats and also accepting the money-making 'easy' fights as they come along.

An70k seater stadium, in winter, near Christmas, in a cost of living crisis. It wasn’t close to a sell out and by all accounts they were moving people forward to create the perception of a full stadium.

Then to charge £26 for something we already knew the outcome of is robbery. I’m normally happy to pay for fights ans usually get my moneys worth but it was impossible to justify it last night. I’ll watch the highlights on YouTube…

I think the Uysk fight will happen and hopefully the Joshua and even Joe Joyce fight. I agree to cement your legacy you need to fight the best and not when they are over the hill either. To be fair to Fury and Joshua that fight would of happened had Wilder not triggered that third fight with Fury. I think like Fury says though if fighters want to fight politics won't get in the way .

As for Uysk I admire him even more than Fury and I hope he beats Fury . Uysk reminds me of a spartan. Trains and eats right and is dedicated to his craft. Fury sometimes goes on drinking benders  though albeit far less than he use to which is good but which I still don't like to see. Uysk on the other hand doesn't really do that and from a boxing purist perspective you have to admire .

I was at the Fury and Chisora fight last night, absolutely freezing and as others has said a total Mismatch, Chisora simply didn't have a hope
