Didn't see that coming I thought he was off to City.

Reports saying he's signed a two-year contract and will be on a staggering £480,000 per week.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

To be fair to him, he turned down a bigger offer from Wrexham.

Why would fans of a club want a old player back? 🙄

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Utd will sell a gazillion shirts in China and the far east.

That's the way the game is now. They are signing a world brand who happens to be great footballer.

Judging by comments on here he's too old for us to be a striker!
On the other hand, age doesn't matter.

Absolutely and his drive to be the best is what makes him so impressive for me. There are very few players of his age who can command those wages and (almost) completely justify them. That said I think there are two possibly three squads better than United (including him) so he’s got his work cut out. I would say those squads are managed by better managers too.

During the 2018 world cup it was often said by various commentators that it was probably Ronaldo's last major international tournament. He won the golden boot at this years Euro's and will blatantly be at the world cup next year too. Call him just a brand who will sell merch in Asia all you want but he keeps on winning 3 points on a Saturday.

Not denying he is a phenomenal footballer, but his brand and his goals almost justify his obscene salary. That's the point I was making.

Amazing player and I'm sure his brand will bring the sponsors and marketing deals in. Still a mad amount of money to make that nobody can realistically even use all of it. Coca-Cola might not be offering any deals anytime soon though.

Has he been signed as a striker or midfield?

If it's as a striker then there maybe another one down the pecking order who could be made available for loan

Big film stars earn more than he will in a year for a single film. Cameron has made £10 million in no time lobbying, he will earn ManU money . What is disgusting, he and his agents know his worth and all parties are happy? Would it make you happy if he was paid half as much and the Glaziers made twice as much?
Ronaldo is a unique talent who unlike film stars has a short shelf life now, like Messi he is maximising his earnings from his undoubted talent

He's adapted his game cleverly. Now pretty much a goal-hanger in the way he plays, expecting his teammates to do the legwork, but he is a very good goalscorer still and, given the chances, will put them away. Also still extremely good at attacking crosses with his head so he'll score from corners or set pieces (not to mention his own), given the chance. I do get the impression you'd need to pretty much arrange your whole style of play around him these days, however. Might work out, but what is going to happen with Cavani? Most teams would love to have him playing for them, but he'll be playing back-up to Ronaldo, surely?

Also, what about the Number 7 shirt? It's Ronaldo's personal merchandising scheme, so is Cavani going to be happy to give that up?

Brilliant player but is ageing. You could tell in the European championships he wasnt what he was. I think Kylian Mbappe may have overtaken him in the football hierarchy. World's number 1 now?.

He may have finished top scorer but his inclusion in the side came at a cost, coupled with Pirlo being kept in longer than he should’ve been. If a player like ronaldo leaves your club and he’s important fans are t happy, Juve aren’t that arsed.

They’re arguably a better side without him…although losing to empoli at home is excrement whoever you are.

It’s a decent signing for Utd and probably keeps Solskjaer in the job longer than he should be…
