Still deciding 1 night or 2.  Seems like there’s not a lot round there. Never been so what is recommended ??
Plan is quiet(ish) Friday but full on Saturday.
Is it a London job ??
Parking preferred.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

There's nothing wrong with Bromley but it's not the centre of the world. Dulwich is very close and nice (but expensive).

If I was you I would stay in central London and do the 'London Thing'. You can get to Bromley by train pretty quickly.

Miss Scunthorpe. Not a beauty pageant, just sound advice.

Dead easy to get to from Victoria so you could stay in the City and get out to the game or the other way around.

Yeah, I’d echo what others have said.

If you are staying in the Bromley area and you want some ideas away from the pub:

Westerham is not far. Nice market town with Churchill’s home Chartwell not far away. Chartwell is a big house but feels like a home and obviously has links to the great man. Great views from the grounds (it’s on the edge of the North Downs - North Downs Way is close by if you like walking and stopping at village pubs, Toys Hill and Ide Hill).
Biggin Hill is close to Bromley. Not sure how much you can explore.
Downe, the village where Darwin lived is also near there. His house is a museum.
The village of Shoreham is a few stops down the line to Sevenoaks. Very picturesque. Plus pubs.
Chislehurst Caves is a bit of a different thing. Man made tunnels several Km long, in chalk going back thousands of years. Used as air raid shelter in the war. Gigs down there in the 60s!

Should be able to park near the football ground. Leafy suburbia with plenty of room.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Oh I nearly forgot. West Wickham Common car park apparently has a special place in dogging history according to my mate who lives near there. 😄

When I thought about staying over I found these on Airbnb.

https://www.airbnb.co.uk/s/Bro.....lexible_trip_dates%5

If there are two of you (including a lady) the £58 one has off road parking on a quiet road ten min from the station. Leave car all day if necessary. Bromley F.C. walkable.   single beds.

If only you, the £37 one has quiet street parking in a very smart house, also close to football ground and station.

If you are new to Airbnb it can vary in accuracy. I tend to do a street view search and then contact the owner to verify things like parking. I zoned in on the ground and the station and used the interactive map. Usually you can cancel up to a couple of days before arrival.

My Mrs wouldn't stay in either of these because she prefers en suite. Mange toute!

Edit.  If the link fails just go on the site, put your dates in and play with the map.

Museums and posh houses? Pah! A possible STI and a probable covid infection from visit to a car park will sell Bromley to anyone.

"Overnight in Bromley"

Isn't that a Alfred Hitchcock Film?

If the football is bad you can always watch the gulls.
