Completely random. I know they have managed to train together but it’s not the same as playing. So as a group they haven’t played together for over 2 months and they have 2 games before the competition starts so he plays a random team with most of the subs not even in the squad. Why the hell would he not play what will be pretty much his strongest team in the first half or maybe an hour of each match and then bring a load of subs on.

Don’t get it.

So the Man U players played last Wednesday, a week ago, heaven knows how they manage to play Saturday then Tuesday in the league.

Pretty turgid stuff. We do need a bit of pace on the pitch I think. Maybe Sancho for Lingard just to give them something different to think about.

I’m not convinced by Trippier at left back, he’s solid but doesn’t give you as much going forward. I like Bellingham although he hasn’t done too much tonight. Grealish continues to draw fouls and looks great at times but hasn’t actually created much.

Hopefully the second half will be better...
