95 minutes before we created a chance from open play. The one that was headed against the post. That was the only moment of the game when we’ve created a goal scoring opportunity in open play.

That’s the story week after week.

If you do not feed your strikers/forwards, and you don’t find a way to open teams up, then you just don’t score enough goals.

Credit to LJL for his movement in the box and the headed goal from the corner. Credit to George Williams for a super free kick. But 95 minutes of open play before creating a chance in open play is just not good enough

Thank you for making a thread to tell us that scoring goals is good and not scoring them is bad. I wasn't aware of this until now.

FIllipe why are you even on this forum.  Your having a go at Town yet you are one of the board members that have allowed Town to be in this position.   Unbelievable.

What a dipstick you are Meza if you genuinely believe that I am board member at GTFC.

Priceless

And please show me where I am having a go at Town? I’m merely making a football observation on where our problems are

Genuine question.
You seem to be a mate of fentys and talk in your posts as if your in the know.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

So did the first goal not count Phil? Does it matter how it was scored?

And was there a problem with the second goal too?

Rhetorical questions. Don’t bother answering.

Ducking and diving are we Fillipe.

Are you going to answer my question or ignoring things again.

So were you in the Directors box on Wednesday night or not, or a Rat eating a free meal. " Yes we did" you said!

I think he has shot himself in the foot, after all if he and his friends were not in the Directors box on Wednesday night and are not Rats eating free meals then why did he say, without prompting " Yes we did".

You can only conclude, unless he wishes to explain, that FILLIPE MAY HAVE LIED.

If he is writing porkies then what little credibility he may have had has blown away in the wind.

Sadly Mr Holmes your theory is floored.

Why did the accused answer “yes we did”.

To understand this, you would firstly have to revisit the question that was asked by someone in the discussion that took place.

The person asking the question was wondering if our directors were still attending games, and if you look at his wording he asked “did WE have any of our directors in the directors box”. To which I answered “Yes we did”

The word “we” was his reference to us as supporters, and my answer of “we” was a reference to us as supporters too.

Yes we (the supporters) did (have our directors in the directors box)

You really have got to try a lot harder you daft muppet

Well if you are PD, your brave to come onto this forum.  In fact if we go down, i wouldn't like to be in your shoes walking around GY.  If fans can put a banner up on fly over when PH got us promoted god help you and JF showing your face around town.

Honestly you guys do make me laugh

If you aren’t insulting the quality of my grass, or suggesting it’s about time I hung up my microphone, then you are obsessed with telling me I’m JF or PD

You’ve even called me Dave Smith.

Anyone else at the club that you would care to accuse me of being

Absolutely amazing even for you. Try the 'Curious' thread. Also summarised on here post 9 and confirmed post 14 by you. Priceless, the contents between your ears.

So in answer to the other part of the question, see Curious Thread for full details, in which you said "Yes we did" must mean you and your friend(s) (as you did say WE) are like Rats eating a free meal!.

Of course if your answer is no, again, then you may be telling porkies which will not do your posting credibility on here any good at all. After all when will the good supporters on here know what to believe and what not to believe.

So Fillipe are you and your friends like Rats eating a free meal

  or

WAS IT PORKIES.  The truth please, O and their was 3 hour difference between my post and your.

I’ve got absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

You are a bit obsessed by all of this.

It’s no wonder people on here seem to have such a low opinion of you.

For gawds sake man grow up and accept that not everyone has the same opinion as each other. We are here to discuss football and a club, not to try and create the biggest conspiracy theory since JFK.

Your avoiding a question Fillipe, you been show where it is and I only want an answer.

Stop throwing red herrings and insults into your posts, trying to avoid an answer to a statement you have made. Just come clean and answer the question. The more you delay you will give the impression that you are hiding something. It's not about conspiracy theories or opinions; it 's about what you post.

Let me simplify it for your in plain English :-

Very interested to know if we had any representation in the directors box on Wednesday night or are our existing directors fleeing like rats from a scuttled trawler

I replied
My binoculars couldn't see who was in the box, but what I can tell you is rats always enjoy a free meal.

You replied
Yes we did

I asked
Were you in the Directors Box Or A Rat eating a free meal.

On this thread you answered
No I’m not a director of Grimsby Town FC

So are you a Rat eating a free meal or did you make your post up?

Please don't try to avoid this simple question. You really need to answer this simple question to maintain the little credibility you have. Every wriggle, twist and turn makes your credibility lower and lower.

Edit
Just seen your last post. Your "yes we did" was 3 hours after my post so making up a defence are we, wriggling are you? So as you admit to not being a director etc. how did you know the directors were in the box, and as you state you did know directors were in the box where did you get this information from and who were they. I ask this as nobody else on knows.

Daft muppet you say, I always found out that when people try to ridicule you they've lost the argument.

Stop ducking and diving you make Del Boy look like an amateur. (only a comparison)

I’ll make it easy for you shall I. I’ll give you a 50/50 for you to choose from.

Answer A:
I’m not a director of the club and I certainly wasn’t enjoying a free meal, which incidentally there is no catering presently at games. But I was at the game in some capacity.

OR

Answer B:
I wasn’t at the game, but I know someone who was, who confirmed that our directors are still attending games, and confirmed that directors were at the game in question too.

This really isn’t difficult or as complicated or cloak and dagger as you are suggesting.

What a dipstick you are Meza if you genuinely believe that I am board member at GTFC.

Priceless

And please show me where I am having a go at Town? I’m merely making a football observation on where our problems are

I think he means you’re a ‘member’

I think he has shot himself in the foot, after all if he and his friends were not in the Directors box on Wednesday night and are not Rats eating free meals then why did he say, without prompting " Yes we did".

You can only conclude, unless he wishes to explain, that FILLIPE MAY HAVE LIED.

If he is writing porkies then what little credibility he may have had has blown away in the wind.

I believe JF. PD and DR were in the Directors seating on Wednesday and I'm not a Director.

Filipe Noche and DB ARE trolls.
Do not feed the trolls.
They are playing a game. A very childish game.
Together they have an agenda.
Don’t get sucked in.
Without attention they’ll eventually get bored.
Let them both whither away back to their holes.
Sad really.

No I’m not a director of Grimsby Town FC

Obviously not you are a member. We were the better team in the second half, we deserved to win. And if we had had this side from the offset we would not be in this position now !  Hurst will deliver next season, whatever division we are in  U.T,F,M.  drunk  again Saturday innit!

I think there is a lot of truth in this, our 'new' side is about 9 games in (since Newport), with no preseason. If those 9 games were at the start of the season I don't think I'd be that worried.

Is our 'new' side any better than the 'old' side from the first half of the season though?

In any case, we started today with 5 Hurst-signed players on the pitch. And then looked better when that number was reduced to 3 after half time. So although we signed a lot of players in January, half of them are either injured or have already been found to be no real improvement on what we had. So it's not quite the "new XI" that it was for a couple of games once we signed them all.

How much money did Hurst have to spend though Tommy? All we’ve got is some bald statement from the current board that money would be made available. We don’t know how much and their track record of penny-pinching, and misleading statements doesn’t give me any confidence that Hurst was given a decent budget.

Look at the early season statement that we have spent up to the permitted spending cap, and then in January their sudden change and the statement that we had money available. Which one is correct?

Hurst would not have gone shopping in the bargain buckets for other people’s cast offs if he didn’t have to.

Didn’t you know about the new rules BAWB? I didn’t until Phil mentioned it.

Apparently set-piece goals only count as 0.5 of a goal so we actually lost 2:1.

Which makes you wonder why he had to sign so many.

I think someone pointed out yesterday that we finished the game and looked better than we have done for a while with only 3 of his signings.

Perhaps if he had signed less but tried to get better quality with higher wages he/we may have done better.

I’m not defending everything Hurst does. Just adding a bit of perspective. I was one of the Hurst Out brigade in the Conference. I just don’t think he deliberately signed bad players. He clearly didn’t have confidence in the players he inherited. And I don’t blame him.

Let's put this to bed once and for all.

Have you ever been involved with or employed by the club in any capacity Fillipe Noche ?

Didn't realise that, but it is staggering to think that so few of his signings are performing as we need them too.

I wasn't suggesting you were defending Paul Hurst. Looking at it and the results at the time we clearly had a poor squad and of course I expected some more signings but some he brought in are clearly no better than what we had which for me is poor management.

I wasn't expecting far better players but hoped they would be better than what we had otherwise there would have been no point in bringing them in.

harbegham better than preston
shop better than green/gibson
menayese with hewitt by far the best central defence we've had
coke/ matete - the best central midfield pairing we've had
eastwood - best of the 4 keepers we've had by far
lamy better than tilley

all proves you wrong

harbegham better than preston You're having a fooking laugh, hadn't played for 18 months before signing and has hardly played a full 90 minutes, so poor and unfit Hurst had to sign another left back

shop better than green/gibson I'm better than Green/Gibson

menayese with hewitt by far the best central defence we've had Menayese playing OK I will grant you that one but erm Hewitt was already here.

coke/ matete - the best central midfield pairing we've had Coke another player not fully fit and has contributed what exactly had I think 1 half decent game and was poor on Saturday otherwise he wouldn't have been taken off and Matete's performances aren't as good as they were when he first came.

eastwood - best of the 4 keepers we've had by far Not that difficult

lamy better than tilley Erm...one good game so far has only started what 2 games? No where near as good as Tilley was yet and another who was taken off on Saturday because he looked poor.

You forgot these :-

Payne - looks poor and was frigging useless on Saturday

Idris El Mizouni - Never looked that good and contributed sod all really

Julian Lamy Looked poor in the games he played

Joe Adams  Not even first choice now.

all proves you wrong   I think that proves me right

Habergham is maybe a bit better than Preston defensively, he's noticeably worse offensively tho.

Out of your 7 new guys only 4 played yesterday, for various reasons, and 3 were substituted which only left LJL on the pitch.
