Done. Over. Finito. Down.

How utterly depressing and yet glaringly inevitable after a death by a thousand cuts. The patient died and we can't even console ourselves that the operation was a success.

To compare the despondency now to the excitement and expectation at what might have been when Holloway first took over couldn't be starker.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

So with goal difference factored in, we would need to get 10 points more than Barrow in the remaining 13 games. Barrow, who have just beaten the league leaders away, and have won 4 our their last 7 games.

That's about as likely as Kate Moss growing a pair of balls.

But are their still any deniers out there thinking we might stay up?

I'm going to watch the game tomorrow night and hope we win. If we do, and it's a big if, then yes, I will still think we've got a glimmer of a chance of staying up.

That good enough for ya. Someone sticking their head above the parapet for you to pour scorn on?

And as someone who got castigated by a good two thirds of posters on here for criticising the club's negative approach to Covid last summer, I think it's a bit rich that some of the same posters are now in hindsight blaming the club's strategy for the mess we're in. Much more than half of you agreed with them, including letting Vernam go et al.

And if or when we do get relegated, for the ones that say that they're not going again in non-league.. Don't desert the new owners, it's not their fault, they're already paying over the odds, and don't desert the club you love at its greatest hour of need. The more of you remain, the quicker the good times come back..

Not giving in yet, but ask me again in 24 hours..

This again, really?! Who on Earth was on here pre season praising the stance of the club? I don’t remember anybody. I was going mad when Vernam left in particular. No pre season games. Recruiting players from Tier 8 - everyone knew this would be really pushing our luck, and so it has proven.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you give him an excuse for him to escape from the wife and kids for the weekend and drink lots of beer.
