Yes but he was past his best at 25!😀

Whatever. Holloway has said and implied enough to suggest this is it for Macca. Not entirely sure what I think about that. I guess we’ll find out soon enough if it was moronic or a master stroke.

I mean I get Macca has made mistakes, which as a keeper have a big impact but it’s almost like that typical manager scapegoating routine; pick the longest serving player, arguably most consistent in recent years and make an example...nobody is safe sort of stuff.

I mean literally nobody can hold their head up high this seasons so far...

After listening to him on the “UNDR THE COSH” podcast, he hasn’t got the drive and determination Ollie would want....

Oh and he doesn’t really want to be a keeper anymore 😂

Dave Beasant came here as an aging keeper.... I'll leave it that..

I would go as far to say that Dave Beasant may actually be the greatest goalkeeper to have ever have graced the hallowed turf of Blundell Park (sorry, I never saw George Tweedy).

In Ollie's post match, he's now saying he may no longer be looking for a new keeper, and that the two current ones can be competition for each other. Sounds like Russell may be getting more game time.

I could see the difference Russell makes compared to Macca when playing out with his feet today, he seems more confident and assured, and that helps those around him look more at ease

However, what we gain from this may be negated if he isn’t as good as pulling off the odd “miracle” save as Macca does at times

Seems Ollie sees the former point as more important, so I guess Russell may be getting an extended run?

In a Town shirt you mean ?

Without doubt the best keeper I have seen in a Town shirt, been watching since late seventies. His command of the area and general presence was ridiculous , not only compared to the man he temporarily ousted...Rhys Wilmott....but every other keeper I have seen play for us.
Coming and claiming balls over the top of players way beyond the penalty spot...never seen a keeper of ours do it since or before.
Fantastic in that Newcastle win too.
