After Day said, in June, that the club would be fine for a an entire year without any football being played, then the fans handed over the best part of £200k (again), you have to start wondering why we’re failing to make any progress.

People have been begging for weeks to be able to buy a season ticket to help out knowing they’re not likely to be allowed in until at least October and they’re finally releasing the details next week.

No surprise, they're both ready for a season at L1 and there's no point in Burnley keeping them in L2 just to work with a particular coach. Good luck to both of them.
Hopefully they'll send us a couple of their next batch in time for the season. My first match watching Town was the 6-5 over Burnley in 2002; now we're their lower league testing ground. If it gets us players as good as Benson and Glennon I won't be complaining.

So what happend to all these players virtually begging to come and play for IO. Or is it waiting to the last minute to save wages and some are here training .The club is very quiate and that is strange so close to the seasons start.. I for one cannot see this coming season running its full course. Lockdown will be brought back as winter creaps in and the virus gets stronger in the colder weather

There was never any chance of Glennon coming back after the way he performed at this level last season, his personal development would have deemed playing up a league as a minimum. I had a glimmer of hope about Benson returning but again he probably warrants being tested higher.
What is concerning and should be a wake up call to all those salivating at the signings we have made so far and the prospect of this being a promotion winning season was the comment from Holloway, The 3 forwards who have come in cost the total wages of Rose & Cardwell (2 of our lowest earners).
We have signed 3 totally unproven strikers at this level, who will need time to settle in find there feet, something I fear they wont be given by some who are expecting too much too soon. Here is hoping they are more Bogle than Bolarinwa.
Be interesting to know if it was Marcus Day or Holloway who decided on not taking it any further.
The reality is we are working with a budget probably not seen at Town for decades and it will be a case of survival, not in the league but as a club.

Don’t disagree with a number of your comments but with the new salary cap, with some exceptions, all L2 clubs are on the same footing so our annual argument that we are over and/or underachieving based on our budget spend compared to other clubs should be out the window. Maybe, big if I know, by waiting that extra month to sign on players means the £1.5M is spread over 11 rather than 12 months for the new arrivals allowing us to pay them a few quid more per week. Have to concede that failing to have any competitive friendlies is a very strange way to start the season and it is unlikely we will be flying out the blocks. Despite IH’s arrival it seems the clubs PR/ Marketing remains in the dark ages with little or no news emanating from them something a decent local rag would be highlighting but hey ho l assume Life as a town fan is not supposed to be fun !!!
