As football has changed over the years from a contact physical game to one where a broken fingernail gets a player subbed, I would say any of the players around when I first started going, around 1969/70 season, were all hard, they had to be otherwise they would be just kicked out of a match.

Possibly not over the total number of games but the most inept attempt at trying to pretend he was interested in a game at all and not wanting to get involved in any tackle of any sort was James berrett at donny when there were 4000 of us and he just pulled out of tackles.

He was a disgrace. Imho
