I saw them at the Winder Gardens a few times but The Jazz clubs more my brother's era. Was it near Siddles?

If you mean the South Bank Jazz Club, yes it was. It was on Victoria
Street above the old Richardson and Coppin printing works.

When everyone got on the dance floor rocking the whole building
would begin to sway. Absolutely terrifying !

Wouldn't be permitted these days.
