Anyone have any idea when the mass photo opportunity in the Pontoon will take place as I don't intend staying the full six hours ?

"Following the conclusion of Sunday's open training session, the players and staff will be joining supporters in the Pontoon Stand for a mass photo opportunity with the Grimsby Telegraph and Grimsby Town official photographers. These photos will be available to purchase from the Mariners Trust and online later next week".

I'll be going with my son and maybe a few others. It's always nice to walk on the pitch and see the players up close.

Should be a good one 😊

Fingers crossed for decent weather

If they want to do a photo with the fans, then the team should pose for a photo in front of a full Pontoon or Findus just before the first home game.  Would look really good and better than the usual squad photo with an empty ground in the background!

The pitch is out of bounds to fans tomorrow due to wet weather around the weekend so the pitch is kept well for tuesdays game against Blackburn. The players are still training though and will still meet fans by the pontoon.

That will put quite a few people off I think, I can understand with the weather, but last year you were allowed on the pitch and you had a proper chance to meet and engage with players and coaching staff, that won't be the same this year obviously with the pitch being off limits

It may do but the priority for all is giving the 1st team the best chance. The day is extended from previous years and its forecast to rain so a decision had to be made before the day.

People will be disappointed but most of the ground is open this year with more activities.  Players will still be mingling and meeting fans just off the pitch.

I went today with my wife, enjoyed the band and you could see a lot of effort had been put into the day.

Not as many people as last year but the fact you couldn't go onto the pitch probably put a few people off.

I was delighted to get in the group photo with fellow fans, players and staff

I may be a bit biased but it looked as though the vast majority of those who attended enjoyed the day. Agree with P.P. about the Indian band they were excellent. The players spent ages amongst the fans after the group photo and signing autographs over the fence.
It was difficult to work out how many were there but numbers were probably down on previous years.

Indian band?! That'll set the anti-diversity lot off on one.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

They were playing big band style American jazz with an ace brass section. Quite something. Got a decent ovation at the end. Would certainly liven up pre-match entertainment.

Must say the players and management team went out of their way to sign autographs and have pictures taken with the fans, they were all a credit to GTFC.

The club have got diversity entertainment on until October pre-match/half time so they might be coming back.

Looking at the picture of him, he was too busy. he looked as if he was embarrassed at being caught writing graffiti on the mural.
