On Police advice?
They are idiots then, making it a 1pm kick off is crazy given the 4 hour trip.

I am glad I decided I wasn't going even before this.

What discussion took place? Perhaps are SLO can advise

Ludicrous decision.

Has this been prompted by worried employers concerned that their workers won't make it to work on Tuesday if KO is at 3PM?

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

The local plod clearly fancy applying the same heavy handed tact tics as they did last year but this time during the daylight hours. The timing is sh1te for anyone who has pre booked specific train tickets.

This doesn't make sense, surely if they was worried about trouble then they wouldn't make it pay on the day!  How do they know 2000 town fans are not going to descend on Cheltenham, and try and all get in?

A  GBH offence took place at the game last season,

BUT

Somebody should inform the police it was carried out by a Cheltenham player,

Not a Grimsby supporter.!!!!!

Booked tickets from Nottingham to Cheltenham to arrive at 12.59. All advance singles with no refund

The main discussions will have been between Cheltenham and the police as the home club with a little input from us on numbers and bits and pieces.

I wasn't involved in any of it and an early kick off with pay on the day doesn't really make sense tbh.

flipping rediculous. what a joke. What has this game got that any others this season hasn't had? it's a dead rubber game, 8hr round trip to a excrement tin pot non league bound club... I'm 50/50 about going whatever kick off time is but I feel for the fans who have got train tickets in advance. Pathetic.
What does this actually do except effect proper football fans?
I really hope we take over 1,000 (really cannot see it myself) just to see how the handle it.

Firstly, thanks for all your good work throughout the season.  Secondly, I feel that you should at least been informed at the earliest opportunity, as a courtesy.

Would you be able to write to Cheltenham Town and the Police to enquire as to the reasons for this, as well as their reasoning for blindsiding you with the announcement?

When Police and clubs do things like this, it really doesn't foster an atmosphere of goodwill and open communication, which ultimately makes the Police's job harder.  I hope you communicate this to them!

Anyone who's already pre-booked train tickets should ring up Trainline (if you've booked through them) customer service. Explain the circumstances and they will change it for you. I accidentally clicked the wrong timing for my tickets for Accrington and was unable to change it on my app. So I rung them up and I managed to get a refund for the "non refundable" tickets.

I will be going but always was to be fair. Apart from the Chekatrade it would take something exceptional for me to boycott a game but this decision along with last seasons aggressive behaviour and over policing by the Gloucestershire Police makes me wonder if CTFC should get my money. Also once again the fixture computer or the Muppets that control it throw up a stupid distance for a bank Holiday fixture.

I always follow up things up, I can't always put out what comes back like after Stevenage for instance but I will always fight the cause. At the end of the day I have no real power other than to be a pain in the backside and that I am to many!

Thank you btw!

Last season quite a few of our supporters (me included ) didn't get in.

Not sure I blame the police directly. The stewards were totally over the top. An old boy (around mid 60s) got turned away because he'd had a drink after driving all the way with I think his grandson.

My lad (and me subsequently) got kicked out by the Police just before half time, he went to the toilet walked past a copper who was having a verbal with another couple of Town fans then another one went up behind him and they both proceeded to grab him by the scruff of the neck drag him out and then give him a lecture with his arm up his back outside. Absolute case of mistaken identity as all he was doing was going for a slash. Coppers seemed very out of their depth that night. Clearly they lacked the correct football intelligence regarding Town fans, or maybe it was just intelligence in general.

Six of us went last season , one of our group was stopped and refused entry by the over zealous stewards ( who seemed to be having a competition as how many Town fans they could stop from getting in) two of us ended up in the home end . My missus took issue with the police's unwillingness to intervene , when she asked the police why all the heavy hand approach , she was told that we have cause trouble everywhere we go , my missus asked where had we caused trouble ,at which the police said Halifax , when asked how many arrests had taken place at Halifax one leery copper said he didn't have any figures, so my missus put him straight that there wasn't any arrests .
Police and Stewards were a total disgrace ,

What are we the fans good at here at GTFC ? Getting together and making ourselves known.

Why don't we really go to Cheltenham in numbers, rally the fans and turn it into an inflatable day (or something different)? really urine them off. Go their with a positive attitude of 'You can't stop us from supporting our club' Make some noise, have fun in the stand and have a great day out. ?

According to the OS yesterday no tickets are being sold here and it's only pay on the day, although I notice they've taken that bit off now, so not sure if that's changed or not now.

Really don't Like Cheltenham, and I'm hoping we beat them and push them into relegation. Out of all the away matches I went to last year it was the worst for attitude from all angles. I'm pleased they've had a excrement seanon so far, and I hope it continues. I hope are boys do the biz! UTM

As already said by Bristol Mariner, tickets coming next week to go on sale as usual - 2 weeks before, making it ALL TICKET.

What I will say is lets not go with a 'us v them' attitude, I was there last season and saw various points....  Lets go there with a 'prove you bloody wrong' attitude and go from there.  Lets not give anybody 'just cause' or we lose any grounding we have.

Also kick-off times are moved for various single factors not any one so it won't just be because GTFC fans are a bunch of pi$$heads that cause trouble.

I'll be in and around the ground keeping an eye on things

We should all dress as Vicars and Nuns.        It would be very difficult to refuse entry or eject one of them!

Or dress up as race horses, they always seem to treat them well.

Initially on the OS it said "Pay on the day only" and now it's all ticket. They'll make their bloody minds up soon.

Kristine will the club make getting a ticket easy for exiled season ticket holders?

Thanks Kristine.

As Herts said, access to tickets for exiles would be great. Could you lobby the club?

No tickets can be purchased directly from Cheltenham as far as I'm aware and it'll be the normal selling process.

More than happy to put suggestions to the club to help improve the away ticket purchase process for exiles. If you want to email supporters@gtfc.co.uk I can pick it up and look at next season?

Usually various considerations and having had communication with our FIO it most definitely wasn't solely down to Humberside Police and our reputation.

In regards to exiles I'll send a few emails out next week see what other clubs do (if anything) with regards to tickets.

thanks for all your do Kristine. I don't mean to direct anything at you at all.
Have the club issued anything yet in regards to Cheltenham ? it's not that far away and being an exile I want to sort a ticket out seems though I can't pay on the day. My son and girlfriends lad will be coming, neither of them have seen town ever lose.

Thanks for that Kristine.
That article states that the kick off has been brought forward on police advice.
Was that our police or theirs ??

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Charles Badmington-squash of the Bourgeoise Barbour Hunting Lodge in Cheltenham joked that the Grimsby hoard were coming to drink all their Pims. Jeffrey Pimpleton and Farquhar Le Croissant-Baguette were outraged to hear this and called their Uncle who is in charge at Scotland yard to ensure the game was brought forward.

True story.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Apart from the inconvenience to our great fans what about the team ?

Will Fenty make the players get up early for the long drive arriving 10 minutes before KO,

Or will he open his wallet and travel the day before ?

I hope its the latter or the players will be knacked before they start.

He'll look at our chances of making the playoffs and decide 'not' Pete.
