I know someone posted about Town centre pubs but for those who don't want to stray too far from the ground there is a pub within a 5 minute walk from the ground The Our Mutual Friend the link is below to their FB site.

https://www.facebook.com/omfstevenage

I have been in and seen the landlord tonight and they are usually listed on sites as the "away pub" and he puts bar staff on accordingly and he did not seem phased when I give him the SP on how much Town fans can drink and that there will be 1000 plus travelling.

To get there go past the ground to the next roundabout (500 yards) at the roundabout you will see an Esso garage at the roundabout take the 3rd exit left and the pubs just there, you can't miss it. Though these is not loads it's pretty safe parking around there too.

There is another couple of pubs on the other side of the ground past Tesco The Toby and The Roebuck in but I understand they can change their mind on the day whether or not they take away fans.

Re parking as Welwyn Mariner said you need to be careful around the retail parks as some have fines some do not. I personally would not park in the car park across the way from the ground if you can avoid it as it a "bar steward" to get out of.

Re drinking in Town it's usually o.k. there is a Spoons if you come out of the station over the footbridge and turn left it's just through the bus terminal. What I would say is that the Rossers and PCSO's consider a crowd of more than half a dozen people a riot in the Town centre so they can get a bit passionate from time to time.

I've been to the ground a couple of times as a neutral a few seasons ago and the regular stewards appeared friendly what I can't speak for is if they import any leery Southern ba&^%rs in for the day.

Sorry right at the bottom of the foot bridge for the Spoons.

Cheers Herts. Looks alright going by the internal pictures. Outside it looks like a dull estate pub.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

The whole of Stevenage is a dull estate to be honest - 1950s/60s new town initially built for the "cockenays" who where bombed out in the war, now parts of the Town need bombing out.

Agree completely. I lived there for nearly 20 years. My advice would be to go to the Spoons near the station, or head into the Old Town.

Which pub will Me and my blood thirsty mates be able to take our 'fish hooks' into ?
Slaughtering innocents can be damn thirsty work 😉 ⚔☠☠🛠🗡

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Now that Stevenage have banned away fans from the Broadhall Suite, me and the missus will be going to the Old Mutual Friend pub, which serves real ale and is only five to ten minutes away from the ground.
See you all there ?

Meeting my lad in Town tomorrow for breakfast, at least one in the Spoons and the to OMF for a couple before the game, can't wait as usually if we are home or away I drive and abstain.

We live a 20 min walk from the ground so I have told the missus who can't go any longer due to mobility stuff if she goes out on the front at 3.05pm she just might hear the tow fans singing.

I will also be in the spoons for 11 although starting in spoons in Peterborough at 9.30 for breakfast and beer.

Note to self: need to get more of a life and spend less time in spoons

2nd note to self: only pay attention to first note after this weekend has finished
