Now that Stevenage have banned away fans from the Broadhall Suite, me and the missus will be going to the Old Mutual Friend pub, which serves real ale and is only five to ten minutes away from the ground.
See you all there ?

Have they> Do they usually let them away fans in?

According to their website they usually do let away fans in unless they stipulate they cannot and they have announced on club website that it is only home fans for this game

I take any positive plaudits for Stevenage FC back today.

Shite organisation to have only 2 turnstiles open. I could understand if they were taken unawares, but 1300 people bought tickets in advance so they knew how many people were going to turn up. The cheap lady parts.

Then the gap between the away stand and the pitch side barrier was about 1m so 1000+ people were squeeing past each other at half time, yet were told to keep the aisle clear.

So all in all, typical non-league friendly welcome but also typical non-league  organisation.

Muppets.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Your post above underlines how little we could talk about the football we played today. Have you tried to get a drink or pee in the lower Findus at half time recently BTW?

I'm not holding Blundell Park out to be a a beacon, but I think the clearances are generally better than that little gap, and there's more than one way in and out. Stevenage were a joke though only opening two turnstiles like that knowing full well 1300+ people would be coming. There were people in the queue who I knew got there well before me and still hadn't got in the ground.

I must admit that I was disappointed we couldn't use the Broadhall Suite,as I enjoy mixing with opposition supporters for a bit of friendly banter.
Following advice on this forum, I headed for Our Mutual Friend,a good move, not a long walk, good beer, and full of Town fans.
On returning to the ground, I stopped outside the Broadhall Suite and asked the 'bouncers' why we were not allowed in.
I asked if it was because of our numbers, but no!  Luton, Millwall and Grimsby, not allowed in.I didn't know our reputation was that bad!
Then came the ,what I considered over the top, security checks.
The guy in the queue about 3 in front of me suddenly dropped his trousers and pants to his knees, and when his turn came, bent over offering his rear end for inspection. He said if you are going to check me you might as well do it properly. I know where he was coming from!
A watching policeman just gave a wry smile!
