I the undersigned fully agree with the appointment of Marcus Bignot and believe it was the best choice the board could make from what we have seen before a ball is kicked. I the undersigned will not be able to say in future that I was unhappy with the appointment of MB at the time of his appointment, no matter what happens from this point onwards....

If you agree add your name!

Be good to see the cod almighty people add there name to this, but then again they will need to blame Fenty if he gets this one wrong.

Think we might just have got the best of the deal and money for compensation too!

I see Paul's new team beat Barnet 3-0 on Saturday, so some dire3ct comparison there too.

I hope the players encourage him to have a look though.

Does anyone disagree or is it unanimous?

I'm asking now because in the future IF it all goes wrong there will always be someone that will come on here and say "I told so..."

So far it's all positive, I can't believe it!!!

Not seen this much excitement on the fishy about a new manager since we got Newell.

I like the sound of him but I don't know who else applied or what happened in the interviews so no idea whether he was the best candidate. He is a big risk but most of the other names mentioned would have been as well. Pleased we have someone on the way up and not on the way down...

Agreed

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Like mentioned previously, I wanted Bignot as manager back in April. All said and done I'm over the moon the way things have turned out, so a big fat yes from me!

It amazes me how different opinions can be, people saying it's the cheap option, I totally disagree.  I even said before Martin O'Neil is one big name who worked his way up from non-league, not to mention Alan Buckley.

Experienced manager or not, it's never a guarantee to success, however!  Bignots got the credentials to be a great manager for us and who knows what the future holds for him in the game.  You never know he could be the next Buckley, McMenemy or dare I even say it next Shankly.  Stay positive people.

Full backing from this Fishy man.
UTM

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

The yard dog in as well, well done everybody involved in bringing Marcus to GTFC.

Can not wait to feel the atmosphere inside the ground on Saturday.

Lets pretend we are playing away and create the away day atmosphere at Blundell Park on Saturday.

Come on UTM onwards and upwards.

Extremely happy and he should be given time to make his stamp and then steadily progress the project before going on to be one of the leagues longest serving managers, like Hurst was, barring a major mishap.

I worked with (and for for a while) a Brummie who sounded exactly like Bignut, he was a funny and genuine character so I like him already. Bingo talks about the game in a similarly genuine vein, perhaps its a down to earth trait round and outlook there amongst the good eggs.

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

Such unprecedented enthusiasm, great. High expectations now on Marcus, the hard thing for fans will be to remain positive when things don't go so well. I like his style, but as he himself said ultimately he will be judged by results on a Sat afternoon.
