His 'performances' and behavior on and off the pitch in the following season certainly played a part in our relegation though.

If the lazy drunk up twit didn't get himself suspended for about 7 games and instead played to the best of his ability, like he did at the end of the previous season, then maybe we wouldn't have had sunk to the point where we had to sack Newell and replace him with an out of depth youth coach...
