Interesting to see a striker whos wages must be pretty high being available for loan...clubs interested must have to pay 100% of wages for him!
I'anson & Thanoj too, predictable...but im surprised with Spencer.

I'm suprised about I'Anson. Brave move considering the injury record for our defenders so far this year.

Its to help keep them match fit, Spencer just getting back from injury and I'anson and Thanoj haven't played that much football recently

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Surely we wouldn't let Mulready play for Boston if there was still bad blood between the clubs. Maybe they've settled over S&H. I might go and watch Mulready on Saturday

Will be a good test for Mulready, and it will give him, I'anson and Thanoj good experience. I'd assume we'd be able to recall any of the players if need be, and we might get a player in on loan as it will have freed up some of the budget.

I think that Mulready has gone to Boston almost as a gift to try and solve any bitterness between us and them

Surely being made available for loan and actually going out on loan are two different things.

I remember being pelted with ice by the Norwich fans during the Milk Cup match, do you?

Why would you bring in another loan player now to jump in front of an existing player and just add to the wage bill?

Surely it's a two fold move - give players needed match practice whilst reducing costs for a month - this could free up some of the year's budget ready for a future loan - say in January, not now.

Sound from a fiscal move, and good for the players getting fitter !

Spencer seems to be injured most of the time. It's ok loaning him out but he'll probably come back early from his loan, injured. Not a great signing at this stage.

or to mean that we are somewhere near the budget since the gates have fallen below the budgeted level and we are going to make a further shortfall

Not really a surprise at all, Spencer has been injured now he's coming back and as we have no reserve team short of random friendlies the only way for him to get match fit is to play in matches, why not on loan to somone?

Also no reason a club has to pay 100% wages, surely they can agree to pay less if we think it will give him needed fitness.

As for the others well same again match fitness and experience

Thin end of the wedge - methinks this has far more to do with saving money then getting players fit.

Somewhere like Tamworth would be ideal for Spencer and Gainsborough  and Boston for the young lads would be ideal.

Great idea to keep the players match fit, some clubs will probably only pay there transport costs. I'm very pleased that we are doing deals with Boston, it's never good to burn bridges in football.

I just think this is an act of deperation as our squad is smaller than previous years so what happens if we have a serious injury. I bet some of these are on high wages  so another reason to get rid on loan

Players not making the match day squad need to get game time somewhere else.  Simples.

Appropriate way to manage a playing squad under any circumstances.

I'm a bit surprised, particularly with Spencer but as long as we can recall them if we need to then it is definitely a good thing for them to go out and get some game time.

I'm sure I have a recollection of you telling people to avoid personal insults. Also, Spencer must have been well fed if he was in the Youth team last season.

The clubs can agree between them, how much of the wages should be paid.

I think this is agood shout by S&H. I don't rate Spenscer, but he needs games and maybe we will see the player we expect. In terms of the young pro's going out on loan can only do them good, they need first team football and they'll come back better prepared. Boston will be good for Mulready, lets hope the others get similar clubs of the same standard. UTM

Or to see if they've got any other players/rich businessmen who to invest a load of money for nothing but abuse in return/ornaments that we can pillage from them??

I don't know what happens on loan deals between 2 clubs.  A mate who supports Stockport said that a few years ago County used to provide a very detailed written report on how each loanee had got on.  Mainly for younger players.  This gave the parent club an impartial assessment of their progress.   It also encouraged future loanees to the club.  A simple but effective idea.  How professional are other clubs in this respect?

I think this is generally a good idea. Conor Marshall has also gone on loan to Brigg. I do think it leaves us light at the back if Charlie I'Anson goes out, I think he's pushing for a 1st team place anyway.
