I think Eastbourne's 11 was last season record low. I reckon they might just break the 20 mark tomorrow.

what difference does it make if there are 2 or 2000 we have sunk to a level were away support is not usual, that is no-ones fault but ours. the few that come from places like H & Y should be applauded and made as welcome as some of these clubs have made us, l

Agreed. I've got nothing but respect for them for sticking by their local club.
Then again, I can and do say that about Town fans too.

To be fair to Mr Viv, he does go to quite a few away games. The day of the Braintree match was the actual day of my last op which is quite apt really. I reckon what I went through was probably a lot painless that if I'd been at the game.

There will be 18   and we will give them 2,000 seats to choosr from,

How much more respect can we give than that, ?

I too went to Braintree,

Also went to Cambridge, Histon and Kettering last season,

Isn't the bit of the Osmond near the main stand still not in use?
Or away fans just don't seem to like to sit in that bit!

Yet you mentioned some of us by name.I was merely answering the original question, not mocking their support as anyone who follows a lower league team has my respect and i actually think that clapping small away support is quite patronising.

You're right about one thing though.I currently don't go to away games but i have been to many hundreds in the past.Got fed up with being herded around like so much cattle and the final straw was being crushed against a wall by a police horse and my brother dragged along by his hair from the same mounted copper. Our crime was being in the vicinity of a bit of a shouting match between rival fans that we had no part of and were going in the opposite direction.

I know it is different in this league but i just got out of the habit of going and recent performances haven't inspired me to start going again yet.I did book a weekend in York last season but the game was called off. Will probably go to York and Lincoln this season as the current Ms Ginny lives a 5 min walk from Sincil Bank.

Totally agree. Had Man City, Wolves etc done a thread like this in the old days before we played then plenty of Town fans would be commenting on their arrogance.

These threads also tend to precede a defeat by the 11 on the pitch.  If you're going to mock them lets at least wait until we've beaten them!

I think clapping the away support when it's announced shows respect to them for making the effort to come here and is more friendlier than the old Grimsby way of smashing up their coaches, mini buses and cars, or following them to the train station trying to start fights.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.

Agreed,  its easy to follow the so called big glamour teams around the country  and the few who follow teams like H&Y deserve respect,  its these fans who are real

I think there were 20 at the start of the game. At half time 3 of them went for a burger.
Only 17  at the end of the game
