Their game tonight has been called off amid rumours the players will not play again till they get paid.

WREXHAM FC have cancelled friendly matches due to be played tonight (Thursday) and on Saturday.

Sources at the club have told the Leader the matches against Colwyn Bay and Ellesmere Port-based Vauxhall Motors had been called off.

It is thought the decision was taken after players refused to play in protest over unpaid wages.

A statement posted on the Wrexham FC website, referring to tonight's game only, said: "Our apologies to Colwyn Bay and all supporters, but tonight's friendly at Llanelian Road has had to be postponed due to internal issues at the Racecourse."

also something for Supporters Trusts to maybe think about in future if they think running a footie club is a breeze in the park.

Now show me a Trust that ever said it was a breeze to run a football club and I'll withdraw my remark that you've just made a ridiculous statement.

Dean Saunders has now confirmed that the players are refusing to play due to not being paid. Guess this is the end for Wrexham, not great for the fans.

Now which players do we want from Wrexham before someone else snaps them up? Their fullbacks are good at this level......

There's a big IF in there. I've read quite a bit of the Wrexham stuff but I don't think they've done their homework properly. Also, the Imps almost went through something similar the other week. Football's basically in a very poor state. Not surprising when I heard that a Gainsborough Trinity player is allegedly  on £700 a week this year!
