Just got back from the Jug and bottle at Holtan Le Mud.

The best carvery I have ever had.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Not a big fan of carverys myself. On the odd occasion I've been the spuds and veg are often cold especially if its toward the end of the platter/bowl whatever and I hate having to queue up. When I go out for a meal I expect it to be served to my table. Going for a carvery just reminds me of when I used to stay for school dinners.

Never had carvery in the J&B (even though I used to live round the corner from it).

The Lynton (when it's open) and Stallingborough Grange are good for carvery.

The Hainton and the  Jug and Bottle are part of the same group. They are a license to print money.....You can't cook what you get for £3.50 any day  but Sunday.

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

The Granby do a good carvery with the added bonus of Pork, Mash Potato and Crackling and The Littlefields is really good value for money, the guy who serves the cavery fills the plate full of meat
