When I used to connect my phone to my laptop via data cable my memory card used to show up in the "my computer" screen.

It no longer does - from memory I haven't changed any settings.

It all still works but I now have to go via my phones software programme to get photos on to my laptop where as before I could do it via the "my computer" screen.

Anyone have any ideas at all why it suddenly won't appear..........please?

If you have a memory card in your phone it will be down to that,
If you back your stuff up format the card then put your stuff back on it it should be fine

My computer knowledge is somewhat of an improvement on Petes and I can therefore offer the following suggestions.

A: Try switching it off, leave for 30 seconds and then switch on again.

B: Try wriggling the mouse.

Don't worry, there's no charge.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Despite Civvy "Bill Gates" advice, there's clearly some settings been fettled. What's your phone make & model?

Reet, what you need to do is go into the back, remove the battery and THEN leave for 30 seconds and then re-insert the battery and switch on again.

If that don't work try wriggling the mouse.
