We don’t need any wingbacks or fullbacks that cant cross the ball. It’s a low bar but most of this squad have failed to reach it. Quick thought experiment - can anyone remember a single good pass that Clifton has managed in a town shirt? For someone who’s played the majority of his career in midfield I’m struggling to remember one incisive, accurate, chance-creating pass.

I think there are a few. Here's one 2nd goal in this game.

Smith looked fine to me. At least he seemed to know what he was doing as a full-back, unlike some of the players we've had in there this season. Took his goal excellently-well against Swindon as well. I wouldn't be enormously excited if he signed, but I'd rather see him at right-back than Mullarkey.

George Lloyd's out of contract as well (although unlike Smith he's been offered a new deal by Cheltenham). Yes yes ex-players and all that etc etc zzzz, but i'd be shoving our own contract under his nose and trying to tempt him back here.

York's owner tweeted 'Early bird gets the worm 🐛 stay Tuned' the other day, so adds credence to that. Think they're desperate to get him back.

He's got a track record for spending big, so will probably happen.

They are also desperately after AMOS so he could very much be the first signing they are referring to.  But yes they want Hunt too, we'll see if they'll stump up the cash....

Was under Lyon’s that he used to play right midfield , while he was still on YTS. Can’t imagine that in the second tier now.

I remember him scoring in a 3-1 defeat away from home at Stockport, under AB, playing in midfield

Incidentally, when can players be signed? Is it 1st June? I read somewhere that loans actually end on 31st May. Is that true?

10th June the transfer window officially opens. Obviously players can be signed before then but would officially join on that date.
