Joke sending off for Barnsley. Can’t believe VAR didn’t overturn it. Makes our experience at  Southampton even more amazing

Another example of the technology being used by idiots.
Clear penalty a few minutes earlier and then that absolute joke of a red!

Hmmmm. It was a red card though wasn’t it? Both feet off the ground and not in control. You haven’t been able to do that for years, so it’s not like that foul has only just become a red card offence.

Barnsley should have had a penalty just prior to the red card though.

He went to clear it with his right foot and his left leg slipped so hardly a two footed challenge. Benson now unluckily off after turning his ankle

Josh Benson on for Barnsley.

Was suggested for us to take him on loan by the then Burnley under 23s manager Micky Duff now manager of Barnsley.

Barnsley deserve to get this to penalties if they can…. a big final ten minutes to the tie.

I’m hoping the Pit Moggies win this now.
They’ve been down to ten men for ages and it’s the Wednesday players that are down with cramp

Was hoping Barnsley would win but SW winning in last minute of extra time after being 0-4 in the semis is almost an achievement of Grimsby proportions

Great game. Barnsley did well to hold out til the very end. Looks like on twitter there's disagreement on the red card but it looked a straight red to me.

Blimey. and I thought we left it late.

For drama Wednesday's play off campaign has to be the second most extraordinary one ever.

No prizes for guessing the first.

I wonder what odds Sheff Weds were to go up after the first leg of the semi-finals.

When Duff was actually the manager at Cheltenham?

Ranged from 25s to 40s.  I had a look after the first leg, for some reason just seemed to think they had a chance in them.  Anything can happen in the play-offs and I thought they were the better team in the first leg.  Didn't bother in the end, went against my own mantra of a low priced winner is better than a high priced loser.

Ah well...
