Meaningless game pretty much summed up by the own goal. Some of our passing was exquisite, although the highlight was clearly Shaun’s farewell, and you could clearly see why the Wombles had tumbled down the table.
Sorry to see Harry go off injured, my MoM was Alex Hunt who oozed class on the ball. Would love to see us to sign some forwards who will get the best out of him.

I think that was probably Hunt's best game of the season and showed at times why Hurst has given him a 3 year deal. I liked Orsi a lot in that game too and, apart from a couple of wayward balls (ooer) I thought Glennon had a very good game. Max's distribution was pretty rubbish but he was in good command of the box so, fair play. Some of the best passing I have seen all season, especially in the first half. Wimbledon were poor, but the officials were poorer. Well done Shaun and the squad, owners and staff. 11th is pretty good all things considered.

Khan gave us a great threat down the left when he came on. Thought his play and link up with glennon was positive and would love to see that more next season.

Hunt was impressive today although I do feel it was his sort of game. No ‘big’ lads in the middle for them and he was awarded a bit of time on the ball.
Great to see Shaun get a send off.
Crap weather for the final game of the season!
See you next year!

Doubt we will see him back next season but Smith just edged it for me as MOM. Has been brilliant for us over the two seasons and deserves our thanks for his contribution.

It was great to see Shaun in the starting line up. Nice send off and even the ref was clapping.
Started off well then scored the weirdest goal. After that a bit stop start although I don't think anybody played terribly. I like Khan's approach to the game. I think we have yet to see the best of him.

Really nice send off for Shaun. I agree Hunt played very well, also I feel Khouri will continue to grow and become a really good asset and first teamer soon. I honestly think if PH looks to play 433 as his more regular formation and we add in 3-4 quality players in key areas, there's no reason why we won't be in and around the play offs next season.

Yep on that evidence - build a midfield around Hunt. If we can retain Harry, with Evan kicking on we’ve a great core to the midlfield options.

Typical home fayre really... played OK first half...got the goal and then didn't really kick on...they grew into the game but not really threatening....we weathered the storm. Should have scored a 2nd...game petered out.
Looked to me like Crocombe has left, he hung back on the lap of honour and body language didn't look positive.
Good to see Shaun get a run out and must admit the pollen levels got to me as I started welling up...despite never suffering hay fever before.

Harry going off disrupted us. He adds an energy to us, we regained it once Khan came on.

One of todays highlights was seeing Reggie Aslin, what a truely inspirational young man, already faced more in his young life than many of us older supporters.

Another one of those games that wasn't the most entertaining but had its moments. I think the fact that their players were kicking the ball away and walking away from it when 1-0 down kinda summed it up.
I'm a big fan of Smith and think that we will struggle to get someone anywhere near as good as him if we cannot sign him.
Maher seems to be getting better and better, was a bit worried in his first few games but he is definitely top end league 2 quality.
Really pleased to see Hunt put in a couple of decent performances in at home recently, the potential is there for sure. Same with Khouri to be fair. Add harry to that and it looks quite promising.
Glennon is a strange one. He has real quality on that left foot. I noticed that so many passes he received he had to work really hard just to keep them in on his wrong side as they were so poor. I like Khan and to me Glennon and Khan can be a massive threat on the left. Just need a bit more upfront. I hope that wasn't Max's last game but if it was good luck to the bloke. Lastly Shaun. It was brilliant to have him as captain and I think the timing of the substitution was spot on. Great guy to have around.
I feel like we'll be looking up rather than down next year, hopefully get some early business done and give it a good go. See you next season.....

Would Ben Grist have developed enough at leicester to warrant a loan move?

Would be surplus to requirements when Andy Smith has signed a permanent. 😉

Mentioned at the game today a similar thing...but for me Glennon doesn't open his body enough for that first touch/ receiving of the pass, as a result ends up turning back on himself to shift the ball onto his left.

Hope so mate. That interview a few weeks ago didn't sound very positive though. When he steps out he is better than most at this level. In fact it was his switch that started the move for the goal today and those shimmies to create that chance for Khouri were quality.

Great start to the game seeing that little Reggie knock one in, brought a tear to my eye.
A pleasure to watch Hunt today, I'd love to see him play in a 3 next season where his only job is to get on the ball and play. Saying that I thought Khouri, Clifton and Holohan's energy allowed him the time to play.
Big shout out to Khouri who is looking like a football league player, he's really coming on and can see him pushing for a place next season. It's not often Hurst has a youngster break through and I think we are seeing his quality.
I really hope we sign Smith, he's going to be such a good player in his mid to late 20's. Classy at this level now, but the sort of player that will move through the leagues with experience.

The thing with Hunt is that he's always got that ability to lose the play in a crucial area. He did it in the second half but got away with it, other times this season he hasn't been so lucky.
I think he's a fine player and will only get better, but you can see why Hurst is reluctant at times to use him. I'll happily see him as the mainstay in the team with that risk included that whilst he might ping the ball around like he does and hopefully create goals galore, but he does carry a risk factor too.
Big key though is getting the right players around him. In that role he's like a Quarterback, it doesn't matter how good his passing is if he hasn't got anyone moving ahead of him. Clifton and Khouri were ideal (then Holohan when he came on) as they're prepared to run beyond the striker. Oris and Lloyd both eager and willing to go out into the channels and either take the play with them or create an opening for the runners.
That has to continue if you want to get the best from Hunt. You then need to add movement from the wide lads. If it's wingers they need to be cutting in so the fullbacks can overlap into space or wingbacks they need to be going beyond their markers.
The other thing to consider is that we will come up against sides that try to physically dominate him, especially if he's proving to be effective. To counter that you might want a Green type in there, which then completely upsets the dynamic of having forward runners from midfield. Maybe he and Green sitting behind a quite attack minded 3 with very attacking fullbacks?
