Arsenal doing their best to hand the Prem title to City.

Latest after 65 minutes:

Arsenal 1-3 Southampton.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Put the last half hour on and it was brilliant. This sport is the most entertaining thing to watch on the planet when it’s played like that.

Genuinely thought arsenal were going to get the win in the end.

I can’t see arsenal beating City this week though so unless City have a disaster somewhere, I think the title is still theirs to lose…

Under football rules, this result makes town the best team in the land though does it not? Southampton drew with arsenal, we beat Southampton, that makes us better? That’s how it works doesn’t it?

Going to be interesting how well Man City are going to do against Real Madrid in the upcoming champions league semi final. One of the TV pundits last season on BT sport reckoned had they had Haaland last season they would of beaten Real. Be interesting to see what happens. On another note advantage that Madrid have in persuading foreign  players to come there is at Real they pay less tax 24% compared to their premier league counterparts eg roughly 40%. And the weather is better  .

Surely 45%, as I think we can assume they will be on over £125k a year or whatever the 45% bracket is, they'll be on that a week no doubt.

You`re right but for absolute clarity we`d have to see how Arsenal did against Hartlepool on a wet Tuesday night.

Nice city to visit as well Lukeo. Museo Del Prado (art museum),the retiro ,Naval museum to name but some of the sights . Likewise if your ever in Spain worth trying something called Calamares . Its like a squid sandwich which is usually served with a small beer (tapas).

So on reflection I’m gutted Arsenal got a point as it doesn’t support my “town are the top team in the land” hypothesis.

This theory is based upon what I was brought up on as a kid on the school field. Grant Thorold  and Ploggers and it’s this…

- We beat Southampton, so that means we’re better than them.

- If they had have beaten Arsenal then clearly we’d be better than both.

- Arsenal are (currently) the top team in the country but if we’re better than them apply the “Ploggers theory” that means GTFC would be the best team in the land.

We of course know that is true but I wanted to apply the kind of science to prove, sort of.

Anyway if only it worked like that 😉

My son thinks I'm a football genius because I assured him months and months ago when he said Arsenal would win the Premier League that they would spectacularly implode in the last 2 months of the season and hand the title to Man City.

He's too young to know that Arsenal have done that every time since 2004 that they came close to a league title.

And Hartlepool whipped us.

And so ?
