  • One player picked up a knock in training today and is a doubt for tomorrow
  • The players missing at the weekend "look okay"; almost a full squad to choose from
  • Alex Hunt is fine after his head injury; Hurst still unhappy with referee for not stopping play
  • Kieran Green and Owen Gallacher remain unavailable
  • Disappointed with the response to going behind at Carlisle; now less confident about rotating the squad
  • Evan Khouri "moving in the right direction" to force his way into the team
  • Had a meeting with players today to maintain focus ahead of upcoming league games
  • Hurst very keen to stop standards slipping

Agree with everything that Paul Hurst says and we cannot afford to be complacent , we are 12 points above the relegation zone with games in hand and 3 points against Newport tomorrow night would be a huge relief. As in many previous seasons teams from lower divisions who are having a good cup run tend to have a bit a tricky patch with their league form and we are no different, hopefully with a couple of decent results in the league we will be ok. Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

I would go flat out in the next two games. Both very winnable. 6 points would virtually secure L2 football next season with plenty of games to go. We could then rest key players for the Sutton game so that they are fresh for the quarter final.

No surprise if the team reverts to 3 centre backs with 2 wing backs in.

Both sides then seem more balanced and powerful for both attack and defence. Efete seems to enjoy having the security of Emmanuel next to him. Glennon can also pop in more centres without the same worry of being caught up field.

Good strong start needed !
