Unbelievable how close, by VAR standards, Emmanuel was to being offside in the build up to our first penalty. Played on by a Southampton defender’s arm pit.
Had very little clue at the time what was going on and why the decision was taking so long. Found it a bit odd that the Southampton scoreboard just wanted to play adverts for 90 minutes to be honest.

Half hour in on my rewatch and Ally McCoist loves the Town. We should send him a shirt and a Harry.

My thoughts as well. We looked a bit nervy first 20 minutes, but that’s to be expected. We grew into that first half, culminating in the move that led to our penalty and opening goal.
Another Hurst big game masterclass.
Totally agree we grew into the game fantastically. We were set up really well as I've now come to think is a given for a Hurst team. We also have to be incredibly fit to play the way we play. Any, and I mean any previous criticism about why we need X, Y and Z coaching staff has been completely blown away by our play off and FA cup runs, because this is total vindication of why we need a whole array of specialisms behind the scenes. On Hurst specifically, he gets a lot of criticism for subs and I think he had each and every one bang on last night and they all contributed fantastically. Our league position doesn't really tell the story of where we are as a team, I am very hopeful, so very hopeful for the future I've not felt like this for a long time. Long may it continue. UTM!

We got home at 8pm Thursday and watched it straight away. What a performance, what a group of players and what a set of fans. Hurst, Stockwood and Petit have created something special here and I love this group of players. I celebrated in Southampton that hard last night my face met the pavement with only one winner but the pain and scars worth everything. Bring on Brighton

I thought that genuinely bizarre that at a premiership ground I had less idea about who towns subs that came on were than at towns ground. Score was just a little bit at the top above the ads too, although I didn't need telling that tbh!

It’s interesting, the people that tend to moan about Hurst and subs are the same people that don’t seem to want to bother understanding the regulations regarding subs but also have extremely short memories. It’s as if they moan because they need someone to blame.
I know there’s an argument that says every game matters but when you look across this second tenure, ignoring the already relegated side, in games that matter he’s made changed pre KO and during the game that have influenced the results.
You can argue the stats were in their favour but to me, they resemble that of a not so good boxer; the one who just keeps the long punches but getting zero contact or making very little progress. They had all those shots but Crocombe didn’t really have a save to make. We were under pressure but if we’re genuinely honest, were it not for some awful defending, they’d never have scored in a month of Sundays.

He must have had quite a lot to do though as the poor lad got that awful cramp towards the end of the game. I hope he's feeling a lot better now.
