The amount of money GTFC have made for reaching the FA Cup Quarter finals.

£450,000 if we beat Brighton.

And that doesn't include TV money (I think)

Happy days.

Wasn't the cost of repairing/relaying the BP pitch 150K (at the fans' forum)?  Be where I'd start spending.

£750k - £1m. We've achieved something we haven't done since 1939, I would rather the prize money be spent on infrastructure than players personally.

First round proper winners     (40)     £41,000
Second round proper winners     (20)     £67,000
Third round proper winners     (32)     £105,000
Fourth round proper winners      (16)      £120,000
Fifth round proper winners     (     £225,000

So that's $558,000 so far, plus £125,000 fro TV last night and another £125,000 fro TV at Brighton. That's £808,000 plus the share of gate receipts for the seven matches. Has to be over £1million in total.

I hope the players and playing staff have a good bonus structure in place, I'm sure they have as they deserve their share for such a great effort.

I'd like to see some of this spent on the pitch to be honest.

Fúck the pitch, get a 6’4” striker & stick it on his head all match, no need for the ball to even touch the grass.

Plus £40k-ish for being selected as overseas tv match against, I think, Burton. So that's 850k without gate receipts even.

Think that was scrapped in 2017. I’m sure the owners will invest the money wisely. Whatever it takes to make us a promotion challenging team next season.

Next year's accounts will include money made from the play-off final and this cup run, so the balance sheet should be looking healthier than it has done in a while.

What we’ve made so far…

£41,000 - R1 Prize Money
£67,000 - R2 Prize Money
£105,000 - R3 Prize Money
£50,000 - R3 Overseas TV Fee
£120,000 - R4 Prize Money
£225,000 - R5 Prize Money
£125,000 - R5 UK TV Fee
£250,000 - R6 UK TV Fee

£983,000 - TOTAL (so far)

And that doesn’t include £250,000 for the L2 Progress Prize Fund, although I’ve seen conflicting reports about whether it still exists or not and Jason didn’t reference it during the fan forum.

That doesn’t include share of gate receipts either.

Well with the extra money and profile we get from our Cup run I sincerely feel that our "brand" as a football club will be raised regardless of where we ultimately finish in the league. I am sure Andrew Dallas is pleased he stopped with a team now dropping down the National League.

The attendances at the cup games were:
R1    4,571
R2    3,044
R3    5,447
R4    8,552
R4r   7,051
R5    17,000 (estimated)

So that is 45,665 in total. Let's say average ticket price is £15. That would equate to £685k gross. I gather we receive 40%. So that would be around £274k. Plus whatever we get at Brighton.

The Brighton fans I've seen so far are urging fans to take it seriously and treat us with respect as it's an FA Cup Quarter Final, a chance to get to Wembley for the semi-final and ultimately, a chance to qualify for Europe. I think it won't be far off a sell out. If we say 27,500 turn up, that's another £165k in the bank using the £15 price above.

It should be a great atmosphere for those lucky enough to go, especially with them intending to take seagulls.

to balance that we also made £30k from the paint pot victories and the money from an 8000 sell out v forest at full price. so we are looking (with the brighton money) at probably £1.25 million. There must also be some commercial gain - harry/kit sales plus the legendary shirt sleeve sponsorship!

I suppose to put the above figures into context you'd look back over probably the previous 15 years to match it even with numerous play off finals? It's a  game changer for GTFC and sets us up for a decent bit of squad building in the Summer and should see us push on in the league. The buzz around the Town is now up there with Ivano era and its not over yet.UTM

That’s not right. It was introduced for the 2018-19 FA Cup.
Google “FA Cup EFL Progress Prize” and there are loads of stuff on it.

The latest TV deal started for last season’s (2021-22) FA Cup however, but I definitely read something somewhere about it and the last League 2 club in the competition. I can’t remember which team it was without looking. Hartlepool rings a bell though.

January 2019 it was announced and I can't see that it has been mentioned since March 2019 so I think it has quietly disappeared. The article doesn't imply that it's a one-off prize though.

I just read on the BBC footie site that we had to chip in £10k for the VAR operation! I know it worked in our favour on Wednesday but paying to have the game killed every week???!!!

£10,000 that ensured a legitimate penalty missed by the referee was given & an offside goal scored by Southampton that was missed by the linesman was disallowed.

An absolute bargain.

I appreciate the delay with the penalty decision was frustrating, but to be fair they had to check the handball and also a possible Town handball and offside in the build up.

Those VAR decisions contributed to a windfall of over half a million. £225k for winning the game, £125k for TV for the Brighton game, and probably around £170k in gate receipts fro the Brighton game.

I remember JS at the fans forum saying that this cup run will just mean they have to dig slightly less into their pockets in terms of this years investments. Was it the cup run that really propelled Lincoln’s fortunes? Do we know if any will be used for next seasons playing budget?

But that was before the Southampton game so he would not have been expecting the additional half a million plus, that the victory will generate.

It's a  game changer for GTFC and sets us up for a decent bit of squad building in the Summer and should see us push on in the league. The buzz around the Town is now up there with Ivano era and its not over yet.UTM

If we wanted Ivano now he maybe wouldn't need to pay 50% of his own transfer fee (though it was probably paid to himself or his own Agency, and didn't he get some of it back after the "buffet" incident?  )

my guesstimate, with a 30,000 Brighton crowd taken into consideration ,is that we've made £1.5 million from this years FA Cup  plus another £100k+ from the league & Mickey Mouse cups

think that equates to a third of our normal turnover

Have you taken into account the Wembley semis and finals? Plus however much you recieve for participating in Europe?
They'll have to build an extra runway at Humberside airport

I think that’s an estimate up to and including the Brighton game. Putting to one side the overwhelmingly poor odds for one second, if we did somehow manage to pull off the greatest cup shock in our 145 year history and beat Brighton, the semi-final would be worth at least another £3m on top.

I think we all know victory at the Amex is highly, highly unlikely, but the hypothetical upside is absolutely staggering.

The games against Wolves in 1980 were in the quarterfinals I think. League Cup.

How many FA cup qt finals have we been in ? I know of 2 we both won but are there any more . I was at the league cup qt final v Norwich in the mid 80's but can't find details if we've bettered that ever ?

We lost to Wolves in the quarter finals of League Cup in 1979, 0-0 at home, Kevin Moore hit underside of the bar, I think 1-1 in replay at Wolves, seem to recall we hit the bar on more than one occasion that night and then lost 2-0 in second replay at the Baseball Ground.

If we’ed have got through would have played Swindon in semi final who were then also in league 3 (L1 as it is known today), and I think it’s fair to guess we would most likely have won and then played Forest in the final but we will never know!

I wonder what bonuses the players negotiated for the cup this season? I think once they are set, they can't be adjusted. I also wonder if the myEnergi sponsorship deal has extra payments based on exposure. Their brand is suddenly prime time BBC 1.

Jason explained at the fans forum why, despite wanting to be transparent, transfer fees are undisclosed as it pushes the price up for other players. As FA Cup prize money is openly available and clubs will roughly know what we are likely to have made in gate receipts from the competition, I wonder if we will fall victim to this in the summer?

Went to the replay at Wolves on the train and it broke down in Lincoln and we missed about 20 minutes of the game.
