It used to be good, often the first opportunity to see newly signed players before the season started.
Didn't realise the timing had changed, to be honest. Just presumed we'd just pulled out of the competition.

I've had some great days out winning the Lincs Cup at Sincil Bank. It was always a good part of the pre-season preparation. I've missed it to be honest.

The game were Liam Hearn scored and we won on penalties was a great night out. Seem to remember we took 1000 to Sincil Bank that night.

Hurst mentioned that the Lincs FA were being difficult when they were trying to organise dates. Very frustrating for everybody involved.

Can't turn down a chance for silverware, I'd play the young lads v Harrogate.

About double what they were bringing to us in the NL!

Yes, a great night that was in 2012. Before the 2011-12 season we won 4 3 at Sincil Bank. I think we were one up but were certainly losing with a few minutes left. Last minute winner and those home fans making disparaging comments about Codheads were in for a surprise as we cavorted about in the Lincolnshire Echo stand while celebrating.

We'd gone in there to get away from the Town drum. Happy days. The presentations were made in front of our stand and I think the officials and sides were baffled by our presence as we shouted out to them.

That was another big following. We always had a carvery in the Trent Port in Gainsborough on the way down. We would have one on the way back after our Boxing Day wins.

As you say on the other thread, we're not going to get relegated. The Lincs Cup is a chance for this group of players to pick up major silverware and give us Europa League football next season.

I think it's been downgraded to entry to the Europa Conference League now though.

And the 2 teams come onto the pitch for this Europa Conference game......Rayo Vallecano finished 6th in La Liga and Grimsby Town who beat Grantham Town on penalties in the final of the Lincs Senior Cup.....
