Taylor on the bench
Great to see him back.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Looking at this Hunt doesn't look too happy and Smith looks as if he's been up all night, or somebody gave him black eyes. Apart from that, it's good to see Taylor on the bench. Looks like 3 2 3 1 1

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

Easy goal. Over the top behind Manny, maher goes to cover and Amos just kept running away from Hoskins rather then going towards him to mark him. Hoskins just sat there open btween 3 players.

Usually pretty relaxed about proceedings but the defending the past few months has been flipping embarrassing. There’s absolutely no desire to stop crosses, mark anybody, just do the ducking basics.

Not much better at the other end mind..

Remember when we won twice in a row including stuffing Luton 3:0 and everybody was bigging the team up? That was a fun time... I guess eventually we'll have another cup game and the team might show a bit of desire again, we were crap in the league when we beat Liverpool too, everybody remembers that but we lost 3 in a row and won 1 in 7 beforehand and lost 3 in a row after.

Manny can't go too high up the pitch if Northamptons winger is going to break on us with pace like that especially now he's on a yellow

Always the case. I remember some boring girl private Utd season ticket holder (allegedly) asking me why I remember a random cup game win or draw, or a good away win or whatever…the answer is simple, when you support someone shite like town or scunny etc you don’t have many highlights so you remember them vividly…

Something needs to be done with the officials at this level, they’re either blind, bias to the point of stupidity or completely unfit.

I'm going to say the ref has gone with his hand was in a natural position be ause he was already bringing it down after putting it up for offside. Otherwise I can't work out why he didn't give it

Because he’s flipping shite. No defending that at all, we’ve been robbed

Because he’s quite clearly a wing back but a couple of excrement results, we’ve excrement a brick and gone back to a back four when 3 at the back with 2 wing backs is clearly our best system…

Amos having a poor game, what a waste of a free kick

Dead Eye Dobbin stood motionless waiting, waiting, waiting for the ball to arrive. Back came the right foot, Down came the right foot, Bang ! Headlines around the world as the ball flew into the very top right hand corner of the goal.( Jim Dobbin scoring in the 89th minute for Town against Newcastle United away 24/10/1992 )

Emmanuel and Morris have been dog first half.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

This ref is missing all of Hoskin's sneaky arms, elbows snd pushes, let alone a blatent hand ball penalty claim.

Another big physical team.

Ok, we're still not looking great in our passing, but it's hard against 12.

Gallagher looks lively but lonely, their left winger is swift, this side linesman is blind, and the play is too stop and start.

Let's hope Taylor gets some minutes in the 2nd half

I'm guessing back to a back 5 following those subs

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Whilst I don’t believe any refereeing decisions have contributed to us being shite recently, we really have had some awful decisions go against us, equally, some that should’ve gone our way but haven’t…

Referee is atrocious, that’s pretty much a given every week but I’m loathed mention that too much when we literally can’t pass the ball 3 yards to each other.

Well even with the games in hand we are definitely looking behind us now on current form.

Lets be honest when have Town ever really made full use of their games in hand

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

McAtee been a touch of class today.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Emmanuel - In the minority but I didn't rate him in his first game. Didn't look like much of a footballer to me
That cross was brilliant though      Stood up and applauded it.
Brilliant made it look so easy. Northampton commentary didn't like it - they keep going on about being shocked
The biggest smash and grab they've ever seen

Wrote this before the 2nd goal
Dust ur chequebook off Stockwood. Get the fornicator out and get him signed so I can get his name on my shirt

He waltzes through defenses.
Asset at corners too....

*fueled by Guinness

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Bloody marvellous result! Even sweeter after going 1-0 down and being a victim of the ineptitude of the officials. UTM!

intercourse me what on earth is Emmanuel doing in league two - took their full back to the cleaners and hung in a pinpoint cross not once but twice. Absolutely top class once Hurst switched to 3 CBs and wing backs after half time.

Those last few minutes were agonising. Brilliant win which lifts the spirits. It’s been a tough week with all the travelling and this performance was heroic in terms of endurance and effort. If only we can be more consistent, but perhaps we will this time. UTM

After McAtee 2 shots early in the second half both narrowly missing I thought here we go ome of those games again where the only thing we don't do is put it in the net.

Great comeback win. Manny clearly needs to play as a wing back as he looked a diffeeently player omce we went to a back 5. Gallacher looked a good player and if I was Amos or Glennon I'd be a little worried after his performance.

That result leaves us just 14 points from the often banded around figure of 50 points for safety in this league. With 4 games in hand we could nearly guarantee safety.......we wont........but we could!

A much needed win, for many reasons. Well done all.

The win and Southampton leading at Chelsea should boost the crowd for cup tie. And make for a better atmosphere.

They might think that they have a better chance of staying up and play an even weaker team.

He has, alhough before we scored he was suggesting Emanuel to go off for Taylor as he was having a 'stinker'. 😁

50 points is the usual banded safety mark for leagues withb3 or 4 going down, for this league it's certainly not usually necessary. Onlyb2 relegated so less needed for safety

What I noticed yesterday was what an easy ride the  two cobblers centre backs had, then they were hit by the monster Ryan Taylor and both booked with the first clash. Welcome back Ryan, we've missed you.

What I can't understand is why Northampton Town FC nicknamed The Cobblers, have a Dragon as a mascot.
Was it the last costume left in the Mascot Outfitters I wonder?
