It's fair to say the fans have done their best this season , in fact it may never get better than this . Which worries me regarding lack of team investment

Looking at those figures I would assume Salford’s commercial department are working wonders as their gate money is half of ours.

Another thread about the perceived lack of investment. We only spend what we have and quite a lot has gone on previous lack of funding on infrastructure.
If other teams are paying more it is because someone somewhere is putting more money in than we can. Stockwood at the fans forum stated that they are having trouble finding sponsors, and that is the main problem.
So, what would you do to solve this conundrum?

Only 23 home games a season. Where are we in the league table for the other 300+ days?

Realistically we can't get higher than 6th for home crowds in this league with the current clubs. We've a smaller home capacity than all the clubs above us and indeed all of the top half save maybe Mansfield. Also we are always towards the bottom of a table of away fans at home grounds, I think we are averaging about 400. There are likely to be be some tinpotters coming down - FG and Morcambe, but one of Wrexham or Notts up for definite and probably both. 6th is about our best no matter how well we do. At League 1 level we'd be in the bottom third.

The boom in lower league attendances is remarkable and whilst we are getting the best crowds for 20+ years, Bradford, Stockport, Tranmere, Mansfield and Doncaster in particular are way above the crowds they used to get in the late 70s / 80s. Most Town fans my age will have been to Belle Vue with Town fans outnumbering the home fans, any home crowd above 4k would have been exceptional for Mansfield, I can recall Tranmere always playing on a Friday night with crowds of about 2k, and 4k would have also been a good crowd at Stockport. On the day of the Bradford fire the attendance was 10k and they'd just won the League.
