It's highly unlikely that Paul Hurst could take GTFC any further than where they are now. If you check out the 'Peter Principle' you will see that where he is now along with the clubs position, he has attained his level of incompetence. That's not to be rude about him in any way, but this is his highest level of achievement, he does not have the skills necessary to take this football club to the next level.

I mean he took Shrewsbury to within a game of The Championship so I'm not sure your theory is correct.

But you are being rude, suggesting he is incompetent, and who are you to say that he does not have the skills to take us to the next level?

As long as we stay up this season was always going to be a free ride for Hurst , he’s early that to say the least .
This window Hurst and it’s owners need to show some intention which is going to cost some money

An uncomfortable fact, but Holloway’s record that season was better than Hurst’s…

Holloway: P19 W5 D4 L10 (26.3%) - 1.0 PPG
Hurst: P25 W5 D8 L12 (20.0%) - 0.92 PPG

We were 19th when Holloway left, 24th come the end of the season. No doubt Hurst inherited a mess, but he made an absolute hash of that half-season and I suspect the man himself would tell you as much.



This is what I'm afraid of given our last 10 games.


In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Chelseacity? Why have you got that name?

You’re entitled to your opinion of course, even though it’s factually wrong about his achievements, but I’m wondering why you say he doesn’t have the skills. Can you elucidate a bit? Are you an assessor? Work in the football industry in some capacity?
