Hi,

I am an occassional visitor to Blundell Park from Ireland.

If we were to get Wigan in the cup, what are the possibilities of someone like me (not a regular match-goer) getting hold of a ticket?

Firstly great on you for supporting the Mariners. I think it is better for you to wait and see the results of the replay and then see what's available.

You can please some of the forumites some of the time but not all the forumites all of the time

Pretty high. Apparently the Wigan away end holds 5,500 but they allocate a total of 4,800 as they didn’t build the concourse properly (see also: Notts County).

Fairly unlikely we’d sell that lot, and virtually impossible for it not to make general sale. Could be decent if we could shift the bulk of them.

If it’s Luton on the other hand, no chance.

A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.

Think I must’ve been spoiled growing up watching us in Division 1 (as it was) because I can never get used to seeing people from inbred hick towns like Wigan and Luton looking at us like some 10-bob non-league outfit. I’ll never forgive Fenty for that.

Anything but Luton. That's like going to Scunthorpe if they moved it near London. Wigan is also half as far to get to for me and if you go to Luton by train you have to go to London to go back on yourself.

Wigan would be OK. They're only one place above Plymouth in the EFL, and we beat them 5-1.

Just to inject some positivity into the discussion. If it is Wigan, they’re relegation favourites and likely to be playing L1 next season. We’ve beaten three L1 teams already and will fancy ourselves against them. Plus, it’s a weekend away in Manchester or Liverpool, and Wigan would be a new ground for me!

How’s that for a ‘glass half full’ perspective!!

A new ground for me too and much easier to get a ticket. Not a long journey either. Seen Town and the Bees at Luton numerous times and did see Brentford win 2 0 in the cup at Luton in 2005. A rare great day out. Luton has been quite a happy hunting ground for Town over the years but it is a dump and tickets would be at a premium.

Hated Luton ever since I got chased around the place in 1981. Horrible fans who still gang up on lone supporters.

Yeah Wigan used to have one of the worst grounds in the league and one of the worst supported .
Luton had a great side in the 80s but I’ve never seen them as a bigger club than us.
It’s hard for me to get excited about either clubs in an FA cup game as I’m sure their fans will feel the same about facing us

Whoever it is: we go there; we win 1-0 (Scannell 89') and we're in Round 5 with fingers crossed again.

Can't see the problem.
