Personally I can't see us moving from BP for 10yrs, so how about spending the FA cup money a new pitch, if the premier clubs can do it in a short period

    of time why can't we?

Spend it on a couple of strikers, one big lad one fox in the box.

I and and I suspect the majority of fans will be disappointed if a good % of the cup money gained is not added to the playing budget, either this January or in the summer.

Not being an expert on this sort of stuff it’s be Interesting to hear from anyone who knows about this sort of thing.

Best guess is as it’s a new pitch it’s taking some time to settle in, the weather over last few weeks can’t have helped.

Are some of the sprinklers leaking as looks poor around some of them?

I thought Fenty had first call on such money, ie accelerated repayments of his loans?  Not that I agree with that of course!

Apparently theres planning going in for the  changing rooms to be moved to the findus side of the ground. Then the corner to be filled in between the main and the pontoon and increasing the capicity. Maybe a load of rubbish but that's what my father was told.

If this is true I hoped they'd put a statement out, this isn't any ordinary 'loan pay off' .. to us fans it's a big thing and would require us to celebrate

If it was part of the deal, does it matter? I’m sure the owners agreed to it as a way of getting the loan issue resolved quickly. It makes zero difference to the fans.

As regards the pitch I know it’s not in perfect condition (an understatement!!). However we have had more rain in a very short space of time than we’ve had for years. This surely has to be the main reason. Therefore I think to spend thousands of pounds on a new pitch when the old one will hopefully recover, is throwing money away that could be spent on better players. Remember the 70’s pitches?!! They were far far worse than ours is now.

All this winging about the pitch. Snowflake generation no doubt. It’s part of the game . Reason we won yesterday was in the second half conditions rain wind pitch we wanted it and they didn’t.

I was talking to the groundsman during the summer while the pitch was being prepared for reseeding and he told me that the extra drainage that had been put in along the findus side had failed to do the job they had hoped

I seem to recall that when the Findus was built that was going to be the idea. Some sort of entrance was left in the centre to make an entrance to the pitch, perhaps some original photo's may show this.

Anyhow it all sounds like a good idea to me.

That is right. When it was first built, and the lower was standing, there was an entrance to the pitch right on the halfway line. We use to stand against it back then.

Unless there’s a lot of work go on under the main stand then I don’t see that plausible as under the Findus is where the education centre is housed

Obviously, the main structure of the stand would have been made to accommodate changing rooms. What is inside are dividing walls to make up rooms for whatever purpose they are used as. This could be the start of the redevelopment of BP and free up the Main Stand to be totally rebuilt.

Having been in some of those offices, not sure there is room for two largish changing rooms, showers and officials room.

Also my contact says that the GTFC media team have just moved into one of the offices.

There's room. Would need some re-purposing of what is there currently, but hardly taxing from a construction perspective.

The classrooms could be moved offsite, probably to the new training facility.

Temporary move perhaps, office equipment does take a long time to move to another location.

I wonder if we might get some clarity at the fans forum about what the plans are longer term.

I've thought for some time that if it is easier and cheaper to obtain and build a new training facility we should use that much more extensively for the meeting rooms, community stuff, offices etc and develop BP over time just as a stadium to play the matches.

I just can't see us ever affording a site for a new stadium; but we have BP which a clever team of architects could work wonders with.

Can’t imagine that’s true. In the update from the CEO last week, they’ve said the changing rooms and Officials’ facilities have only just been upgraded.
