Ex-Crawley manager John Yems has been banned for 18 months by the FA for racial abuse against his own players. At 63 that should finish his managerial roles permanently. I'm glad to see that the FA is making a stand against racial abuse, and so they should.

Obviously a good sign, but easier to ban someone who’s been out of the game for a good bit and who’s got no prospects of getting back in. It’s when current players and managers get caught being racist that I want to see punishments handed out properly. And that goes for fans as well.

He was suspended and essentially banned the moment it came to light…I don’t disagree that there’s bigotry in the game that needs dealing with, in this case they’ve done what they can although I wonder if life bans are an option? May be actually make him attend some educational courses…although for him I suspect they’d be futile…
