Surprising news. Shows that we need to see each day as a gift and try to make the most of it. 58 is too young to pass away .

RIP

Saw that he’d stepped away from the Italy coaching set-up 2 or 3 weeks ago, sad that his illness progressed so quickly.

His former teammate Scott Minto on Talksport just now, quite emotionally talking about how he didn’t speak a word of English but took the time and effort to become fluent in a matter of months. He married and English girl and made England his home.

Great player and always came across as a top bloke.

RIP.

He's been ill for many years so not too much of a surprise, but still sad to see.

Sounds like a cracking bloke. Must take a great deal of willpower to make it as a top player when you've grown up very well-off, living in a castle!

Really sad news! A really good player and always came across very well.
It’s about time we got to grips with that cunting disease!!!

The two Luca’s (Vialli and Pagluica) were supposed to be meeting Macca, Grovesie, Shakespeare, Ivano, and his entourage, in Milan the weekend of the Luton Pollo-gate incident with Laws.

Bit of a sliding doors moment as, after a night out with those Mariners legends, Vialli could have been persuaded to swap the black and white of Juve for the bianconeri of Grimsby Town that summer, instead of signing for Chelsea.

I took Mrs Voles on the Enzo Gambaro tour of Italy last month (it’s similar to the Bonetti tour but adds in Trieste at the end). First stop was Genoa. Most of the bars and osterie in Genoa were owned by Genoa fans rather than their rivals - Samp - so there were no photos of Mancini, Lombardo, Vierchowod, Montella, Chiesa etc…

…but there were plenty of pics of Vialli, which showed the love for the guy even from rival supporters.

Weird as intercourse walking in the Samp club shop and seeing a massive picture of a bloke who played for Town though….
