There's an ex-GTFC players or January Transfer Window thread for news like this, or you could have written a more accurate and less pitifully misleading title if you felt this news warranted a completely new thread.

edit for anyone opening this thread: The coward who posted it has deleted his original post, don't blame me for this!

Read the title........... very angry as it's misleading, I was expecting it to say after completing the course he's just been on he was setting himself up in a graphic business and we'd get some ads above the Osmond now.

The first thing I thought when I saw the thread title was 'I bet this is one of those bell-end posts and it isn't for us.

If time travel is invented in my lifetime, the first thing I’m going to do is travel back in time to find out whether these threads were ever funny.

As an aside, there appears to be no official announcement of Bennett to Cambridge anywhere - it’s just another one of those ITK Twitter accounts posting bóllocks as far as I can see. Not that it matters; it’s been clear for weeks that he wasn’t signing for us.

Are you behind Football Insider Danny? It's just that you posted this literally one minute after they tweeted he is set to sign for them.

Gordon Bennett.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

A poster who appears now to have removed his post? Or at least it looks like it. Similar behaviour to the tweet he deleted recently saying his household income was over £100Kpa.

Still wouldn’t surprise me to see him here this summer or the next.

Sod Bennett, I'm still waiting for Cesc Fabregas to complete his transfer. That was more likely

If it is true it looks like a strange decision. Cambridge are struggling and I doubt that he's been offered big money.

This might work for us Ryan signs for Cambridge until the end of the season.

We won't be having Smith next season so Ryan can be coming home.

Well his wife is a Grimsby lass.

Probably earning a good bit more than we were willing to offer him, especially as Cambridge will be worried about being so close to the relegation zone. Let's let Cambridge get him fit and he can perhaps join us next season if Smith returns to Hull.

We need to be looking forwards not backwards,  rather have a younger hungry player with a point to prove, than a 33 year old has been.

No big deal, we have 3 competent CB's plus a warrior out on loan and a good prospect learning his trade elsewhere.  Clearly Bennet has pedigree but when was the last time he started a game or played a full 90?

Good luck to him but we should be looking more long term and spending money on scoring goals.
