On the train. Difficult to judge a really poor 2nd half until we understood how Effete is as I’m sure that must have had an impact on the players as in the first half it was pretty even without either keeper being tested other than 1 good save from Max.
Can’t understand why we just didn’t go 3 at the back when we had to make the change, but there you go Hurst knows best I guess. Also a bit disappointed that when we needed some creativity JMD and Hunt don’t get a look in.
A word for the ref and the linesman, complete Numpties as they seemed to buy every piece of Wimbledon sh1thousery especially when they went ahead.
We need to start picking up league points quickly. Even with the injuries to the full backs we have enough in the squad to do a bit better.

…in the pub in Clapham. AFCW are an annoying niggly side with not much quality. The loss of Miche disrupted us and J McAtee is wasted in that role - just doesn’t suit back to goal. Our front options weren’t good enough, we cried out for a grizzly CF who'd niggle them, the youth don’t cut it in these kind of games. The ref was utter shite

Not a game we deserved to lose. Should've really scored in the first half.
Thought Khouri did well out of position.

Watching on Mariners TV, Max did “dip” his head in to Pells face, but obviously the ref didn’t see it or it would’ve been a red card and 3 games out Yes, Pell played for it, but very lucky
He did exactly what pell did to him. Hit him with his shoulder around his chest/shoulder area. For me ira frustrating not because we lost, just because I feel we aren't creating enough goals to make me think we can still get a point or 3 once we've conceded. That is my concern. Overall I enjoyed the game, it had a bit of everything. But that's the problem for me. Once we concede (which isn't many!) But when we do I feel its pretty much game over

That was a shocker, little quality from either side and although we were the better team for 30 minutes we created very little 2nd half was dire rubbish with barely two passes strung together and although we have enough points for safety our form is a massive concern Just grateful the ref didn’t fall for Pell’s showbiz shenanigans cos that would have been the icing on the cake Modern football is becoming a mystery to me, what’s allowed and what’s a foul. Just hope we can get reinforcements through the door in January because whatever the question, the answer is not Pepple and Symonds

We're miles from safety! Like Hertz says, we have enough to survive but we need to start playing all the right notes in the right order. Selection and subs are a puzzle at the moment.

I don't know more than Hursty but I would like to see us playing a settled side rather than the constant changes we are seeing. Hopefully when we get new players coming in we will start being more consistent so the team will pick itself. Our fantastic fans deserve better at Blundell Park and a few wins on the trot will see our crowd go home happy . Which will mean our open corners will be needed to cope with even bigger crowds that will turn up.

Can’t fault the effort of the players and the injury to Efete certainly played a part. Harsh to use today as any sort of barometer of where we are at. Also really harsh to not mention to performance of Khouri who was tremendous.

Think we need a reset in the transfer window. I would let Pepple and Simmonds go back to their clubs and try to bring in a quality striker to partner or play in front of Mcatee, who looked woefully isolated today. I don't know what Richardson has to do to get a run in the first 11. He has good tight control and is direct and looking forward to goal and yet we can't get him in the squad/team. He would have given us something different today. As an attacking unit we are offering nothing yet look defensively strong which is why it's even more frustrating when we come out with a 1-0 reverse. Fine tuning needed in January

I think Richardson is injured but in reality he’s not the answer either.

Wasn't there today, but it's remarkable how similar the way this season has panned out in comparison to the last. Good start this year (compared to a remarkable start last year), but not because we were brilliant at any point in either season, we just nicked the goals when we needed them. That was followed by a period (both last and this season) where injuries weakened us to the point where we just couldn't/can't get the results.
Hopefully, the return of players after injury and some new arrivals can give us a much-needed boost before too long.

You're quite right about the similarities between last season and this one. I hope it all pans out the same way with promotion again.

only an opinion but i think it affected not only the team but also the result we looked a threat with michee on the pitch when he went off & this isn't having ago at maher we lost our way down that side of pitch , hope he's ok because after the bromley match today football doesn't seem that important life & health are precious

I actually thought Maher had a very good game.
We lacked any cutting edge, played well in patches, especially first half but didn't create enough chances to score more than 1

Poor game, can't complain about the result really. They took one of their chances, we didn't take any of ours. Not overly worried, we're still looking solid just not clinical at all. Agree with the post earlier in the thread about McAtee currently being wasted in his current role.
I've been highly critical of Hurst's Simmonds/People preference, however I thought Simmonds did alright when he came on. He didn't tear it up but he was at least positive. Pepple on the other hand was merely a passenger. I just don't get what Hurst sees in him and why he continues to use him. I don't know how much more Pepple I can take.
Main positive of the day was the support. Phenomenal effort to hit 4 figures for a 9 hour round trip kicking off at 12.30. Shame we weren't treated to a win. And yep also agree with the above, the ticket situation was a farce. £28.50 for League Two football. Absolutely shocking.

To be fair I think that’s tenge first time Pepple has played in ages? He was so ineffective when he came on though.
Simmonds on the other hand I thought looked dangerous. He’s got good control, can beat a man and looks fairly strong for a young lad.

Yeah true. He's been injured and has seemingly come straight back in though, which I don't get. Orsi has had about 15 minutes in the league during that time and we actually scored then (vs Stevenage). I know Orsi has had a few niggles as well but I just don't get why we've seen Pepple over him so often. I understand that Hurst values application and attitude, often at the expense of technical merit, but he's pushing it with Pepple for me. He can't look at Pepple's performance on Saturday and defend him. He was completely anonymous. Was he even up front, as in centrally? I honestly couldn't tell. I think the only times I noticed him, he was out wide on the right? If you're JMD, Orsi, Richardson or Wearne (when he was here) and you're behind these performances in the pecking order, I dread to think what's going through your head.

Just when we were piling players forward in the last few minutes, Simmonds gave the momentum back to Wimbledon by giving away pathetic free kicks.

He gave 4 away in the space of about 15 minutes which were all needless and stopped us attacking

Obviously we don't see them day in day out but I believe that Richardson has some ability! I'd love to see him get a regular run out. But I trust PH and there's clearly reasons why he isn't getting game time.

I'm amazed that anyone can make a call on Symonds, Richardson, Orsi, or Pepple without seeing them have a decent run of games in a relatively stable side.

Other than the fact that the manager doesn’t seem confident enough in any of them to pick them regularly.
