I think it was the first two words of the article ‘unrealistic expectations’ and the six furtherr references to expectations in it that plus the fact that the whole article was about that subject . You obviously like your messages to be more direct to get them

What? Have you finished that post?
Where’s the context? I’ve read the article. Nowhere does it say that the expectations of Grimsby Town supporters are too high. It’s a spin, on behalf of the usual moaners who have short memories. If it’s that bad, find summat else to do.

In business, I was always told to under promise and over deliver. I guess if you don’t promise much (transparency, ethos, values) then you can’t really under deliver.

Listen to almost any of his interviews, he almost always has a complaint about fans whether it's their expectations of a new striker, new stadium, general complaints or unrealistic expectations. The content of what he says is strikingly similar to Fenty, just much more eloquent and less broad brush. I don't even think he's wrong on that front either, I just find it strange that the most aggressive critics from 2 years ago are lapping it up.

‘Complaint’?
He just doesn’t. He might make a balanced point on the reality and challenges in the context of any of those aspects, but ‘complaint’ is your perjorative term.

The latest interview with Matt Dean included several bits that were far more confrontational than previous. Maybe it’s that running a football club is a little more complicated than he imagined.
