Following on from the Bradfird game we have another near full house fir a home league fixture.  Nearest we will get to a proper Derby and in the stands  need to replicate the same partizan atmosphere and hopefully drive the boys on to victory. Unlike a few I'm gutted to see Taylor out injured but last weeks victory vs Argyle shows there are other options and I'm praying our talisman will be back under the radar today?
Thinking of home games v Donny past the stand out was an FA Cup win when Johnny Cockerill scored with a sensational Van Basten like volley which saw the main stand pile on the pitch in celebration.

Complete sell out at the moment. A ST or two might get released this morning. That's two league games running. With a larger capacity this and Bradford would have been 10k or close to that.

It always amazed me that goal. How does he get it in from that angle? Not only that, but how does it hit that part of the next from that angle? Did it bend? Did the keeper deflect it? Or did it actually go through the side netting? Still don’t know all these years on.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Well found Sir. That's the one mind you time clouds the mind I would have sworn Cockers hit it full on the volley.
Think Donny where top of the League at the time Cockers also put Wolverhampton out scoring direct from a corner at a baying BP.

That's why I think a BP revamp must happen quickly today is at least the 3rd game we would have had a gate in excess of 10k.

Looks to me like it beats the keeper on his near post but know what you mean the ball hits the other side of the goal.Mind you Cockers could hit em

It was the opposite and they were bottom, they were relegated into the conference either that season or the next

Makes me laugh, they’ll all be “giving it to the Yorkies” most of them weren’t born when Yorkshire used to decend on Meggies each summer.

It’s always good when you get a gate over 10k … Imps have had a few in recent seasons, and the new Stacey West revamp will take the capacity up to 11,500 which is plenty big enough for us.

Our new Stadium is still 10-20 years away apparently so doubtful I’ll be around to see it?

Bradford would of brought 3-4 k we could of had 10-11 so 15k that’s 7k x 20 pounds

Don’t would of been a 11k gate

It’s a bug bear of mine, too, but I do kind of get it. Phonetically speaking, the way most English people say “would have” sounds more like “would of”, so that’s naturally how it flows into the written word for many people.

Bigger problems in the world and all that…
